Exhumed - Have Entered The Studio

Gore-metal originators Exhumed are currently in the studio recording their first full-length album since 2003's Anatomy Is Destiny.

Exhumed guitarist/vocalist/founder Matt Harvey, bassist Leon DelMuerte and guitarist Wes Caley are currently at Arcane Digital Recording in Arizona working with engineer Ryan Butler (Misery Index) to record vocals, bass and guitar tracks. Exhumed drummer Danny Walker previously laid down his drum tracks at Trench Studios with John Haddad (Abysmal Dawn, Intronaut). Mixing and mastering will be handled by Brian Elliott (Graves Of Valor) at Mana Recording Studios (Cannibal Corpse, Goatwhore, Nile).

Matt Harvey recently checked in from the studio with the following update: "So far we're really psyched on what's been oozing out of the speakers! The guitars are sounding really aggressive right out of the box. I can't wait to get into the vocals and flesh out the songs. We have 18 songs to work through while we're here and then we'll sort through and cherry-pick the heaviest, ugliest tracks for the new record, which is gonna be titled All Guts, No Glory. I think it builds on all the best shit from our first three records and should disgust and revolt any poseurs out there!"

All Guts, No Glory is expected to see a spring 2011 release date. Additional, detailed studio updates will be posted on the band's MySpace page, Facebook page, and new blog.

Exhumed has confirmed that their first North American appearance in support of the new album will be as part of Maryland Deathfest 2011.

This album marks In Flame's first without founding member, guitarist Jesper Strömblad, who quit the band earlier this year to seek help for his alcohol addiction.

Communic - Issue Update On New Album

Norwegian metallers Communic are currently preparing the final writing details for their follow-up to 2008's Payment Of Existence. The band is planning to start the recording process early 2011. The band is hoping for a June 2011 release.

Comments guitarist/vocalist Oddleif Stensland: "I am really excited about this new material that we have put together for this new album. There is still some work left, but we are getting closer. I think the heaviness of these songs will surprise many of you, and the overall feeling of it, is way darker this time. The songs are shorter, more in your face and may seem straight forward at first, but there are many twists and turns that will just creep under your skin. This album is DEEP!

I know that many of you have been waiting for this album for a long time already, but everything has its time, and the time is now. Never before have I left so much of "myself" in our songs - never before has the price been so high - this album will be really special".

Transcending Bizarre? - New Album Due Next Month

Transcending Bizarre? will finally release their new album, The Misanthrope's Fable, on November 19th via Dissonart Productions.

The album recording was finished in July, and was mixed by Dim Douvras (Rotting Christ, Rex Mundi) at Lunatech Studios. The artwork was created by Anestis Goudas (Derz.oth Design) and based on the paintings of Jesse Pepper. Vocalist Bjørnar E. Nilsen from Vulture Industries participates in the song "The Empire of Mind".

The band stated earlier: "We believe that this album is our DARKEST and most complete creation so far. The symphonic avant-gardism of our latest release joins the experimental black metal psychedelia of our debut album and the result is a concept album of nightmarish atmosphere and severe eclecticism."

Haris shares the following words about the forthcoming release: "This is the first time that we've created a CONCEPT album, both musically and lyrically. There are lots of melodic themes and lyrics that repeat themselves throughout the album with all songs contributing to the main story. The vocals are more diverse than ever and we have also recorded some themes with the help of a CHILDREN's choir as an attempt to enhance the horror and the unearthly atmosphere of the music. I hope the final result satisfies our fans."

The album will contain the last drum parts played by S.A.Akis, who passed away in June, due to a congenital heart disease.

A new track, called "The Beginning" and an album medley are available for streaming on the band's MySpace.

The Misanthrope's Fable cover art] tracklist:

01. The Misanthrope's Fable
02. The Beginning
03. Realizing The Blindness
04. Envisaging The Ideal Planet
05. The Murders Of The Young Ones

07. Descarte's Wrath
08. Broad Daylight Misanthropy

Sacred Oath - Second Single Streaming Online

US true metal torch-bearers Sacred Oath have released a second single from their brand new album World On Fire. The song, "Sweet Agony," can be heard as a free stream MySpace or below.

"We really feel strongly that this is the best work we've done yet," says Rob Thorne, vocalist/guitarist and producer for the band. "And yet we're struggling, more now than ever, to survive in this business. We need more metal fans to know about Sacred Oath, and these YouTube singles seem like an ideal way to get the word out."

Like the first single "Meet Your Maker," the new single "Sweet Agony" is part of the Dune concept that the album draws its inspiration from. "There are many parallels to be drawn between the futuristic world of Dune and the global crises we face here today," said Thorne in a recent radio interview. "If Dune was ahead of its time, well, sadly it was less than we thought." American author Frank Herbert first published Dune in 1968.

Sacred Oath will release World On Fire as an iTunes exclusive this Tuesday October 26th - just in time for Halloween. The deluxe bundle includes 11 songs and a PDF of the cover art, lyrics and liner notes. All other major digital retailers will have the album available for sale on November 9th (worldwide). A digipack CD version with lyric booklet will also be available in North America. No physical release date has been set for Europe, Japan, or South America as of yet.

Hull - EP Available For Streaming

Hull's crushing Viking Funeral EP is currently streaming in its entirety via Decibel Magazine's recently relaunched website. The unsung, 16-plus minute EP was initially self-released by the Brooklyn-based, three-guitar led sludge metal collective back in 2007 - their first official recording. It comes hand numbered/crafted with stunning artwork by Jorden Haley, still available in poster format for purchase via the band.

Said the band of the recording: "Viking Funeral is a two-movement EP that focuses on the life of war and struggle of an antiquated culture... This EP will eventually be part of a full-length album that touches on life, death and afterlife in the Viking mythology."

To check out Viking Funeral, visit Decibel Magazine.

Hull released their debut full-length, Sole Lord, via The End Records in 2009. The band is currently working on their follow-up with co-producer Brett Romnes, who played drums on the Viking Funeral EP. Further details to be announced shortly.
