X Japan - Yoshiki To Undergo Emergency Surgery

Drummer Yoshiki of X Japan will undergo an emergency cervical artificial disc replacement surgery on Tuesday, May 16th in Los Angeles. As a result of Yoshiki's intense drumming style and the impact it has had on his physical health, he was diagnosed with cervical foraminal stenosis in July 2009, and then underwent a cervical laminectomy and a cervical foraminotomy.

Jyrki69 - Singer's Solo Album On The Way

A music Vampire and gothic icon Jyrki 69, lead vocalist for Helsinki's goth metal band The 69 Eyes, will release his first-ever solo album on June 23rd via Cleopatra Records. The disc, titled Helsinki Vampire, "builds on the distinctive 'goth 'n' roll' sound that The 69 Eyes, honed over the course of a dozen albums (millions of units sold collectively worldwide) while adding a more richly textured, darkly romantic atmosphere. Östersund's own 220 Volt just released a new song called "Fair Enough". You can listen to it below. The band also announced their new vocalist Göran Nyström. Thomas Drevin and Mats Karlsson are the founding members of the band and both guitarists. On drum duties, there's Peter Hermansson and in 2016, the group announced new bassist Mats Vassfjord.

Cellar Darling - Debut Album Title And Release Date Announced

Cellar Darling, the band formed by Anna Murphy, Merlin Sutter and Ivo Henzi after troubles in the Eluveitie camp, has revealed more about their 14-track debut album. Titled This Is The Sound, it shall be released via Nuclear Blast Records on the 30th of June, 2017. Finnish metal icons Amorphis just announced that bassist Niclas Etelävuori has left the band. You can read the full statement below but he cites mismanagement as the main reason for quitting the band. So, in this case, it was the business side of things getting in the way. Norwegian chaos bringers Kraanium just announced that the band's vocalist Martin Funderud has died. He was one of the founding members of the death metal band. Even though they didn't say much about what happened, they hinted that he committed suicide. R.I.P.
