Forest Stream - Guitarist Passes Away

Doom metal is all about grief, sorrow, sadness and loss, but there are days when it happens literally. Russian doom metal band Forest Stream just lost their guitarist Berserk, Pavel Antonenkov. The band didn't say much about it but posted a poem mourning his loss.

Dutch Doom Days - New Bands Announced

What do you do in late October, with autumn rain, in Rotterdam? Maybe try some Dutch craft beer or listen to some good music? You can do that on the upcoming Dutch Doom Days XVI festival that will happen in Rotterdam, The Nederlands on the 28th and 29th of October 2017, at the Baroeg club. The latest bands confirmed for the fest are Dutch band Beyond Our Ruins and Mare Infinitum.

Skyforger - Confirmed For Kilkim ?aibu Festival

Latvian pagan folk metal artists Skyforger announced that they will play at the Lithuanian festival Kilkim Zaibu this summer. They will perform their folk program at the Kilkim ?aibu for the first time. The line-up for this year also includes Abbath, Vulture Industries, Mgła, Månegarm, Archgoat and many others.

Alice Cooper - To Perform With Original Band Members Again

Alice Cooper has announced that he will be reuniting with members of his original band and perform with Dennis Dunaway, Neal Smith and Michael Bruce during his upcoming Nashville stop at TPAC, the Tennessee Performing Arts Center on May 14th. This will be a show within a show type situation, with Alice Cooper performing with his current touring band and with the original band members in a mini-set.

Johansson - Guitarist Allan Holdsworth Dies

British innovative guitarist Allan Holdsworth just died of unknown causes at the age of 70. He was part of the neoclassical band Johansson briefly, played in the album Heavy Machinery, but is more known for prog rock and jazz fusion with such acts as Soft Machine, Gong and UK. He also had a solo career. Furthermore, he was a special guest on albums by Derek Sherinian and Planet X. R.I.P.

German grave diggers Rebellion have started recording new music. The heavy metal band didn't say much about the follow-up to Wyrd Bið Ful Aræd - The History Of The Saxons, which was released two years ago, but it seems like the drum recordings have begun. The new album is expected this year.

The Exploited - Frontman Hospitalized With Very Serious Heart Condition

British punk heads The Exploited's frontman Wattie Buchan was hospitalized in Belgium. He has a very serious heart condition but the doctors managed to save him. Three years ago, Wattie Buchan suffered a heart attack during a show in Lisbon, Portugal but recovered. Hopefully he can do the same again.

Vulcano - Former Member Johnny Hansen Dies

Brazilian thrash metal butchers Vulcano have lost their old guitarist Johnny Hansen, who played in the band briefly back in 1984. His other band Harry confirmed his passing in a message on their Facebook. Vulcano also posted a message saying their goodbyes.

Vintersorg - New Album On The Way, Reveal Details

The Swedish metal act from Skellefteå, Vintersorg, announced that they will bring us the new chapter of the music which began in 1998 with Till Fjälls. The band will release the new album Till Fjälls Del II this June 30th via Napalm Records. Finally, fans will be able to hear the successor to Naturbål (2014).

Crucified Barbara - Former Members Launch New Band

Swedish metal outfit Crucified Barbara split up in 2016 but former members are moving on and have launched a new band called The Heard. The line-up features Klara Force on guitar, Ida Evileye on bass, Nikki Wicked on drums and Deathstars member Jonas "Skinny Disco" Kangur is lead guitarist. Vocals will be handled by Pepper Potemkin.
