Rob Rock - Sign With AFM, New Album On The Way
"?no problem to get a record deal with this name? We are proud to inform you that ROB ROCK (by the way, that´s his real name) signed a record deal with AFM Records. We are sure that we will have a great relationship and we are looking forward to working with you, Rob! The new album entitled "Holy Hell" is still in the recording process, nevertheless the release date is planned for spring 2005. As it currently looks like the album will be mixed by ROY Z, after he finished the mix of the new JUDAS PRIEST album."

Phil Anselmo statement about Dimebag
Philip Anselmo's (SUPERJOINT RITUAL, DOWN, ex-PANTERA) friend "J" has posted the following message on the official DOWN forum in regards to the tragic death of DAMAGEPLAN/ex-PANTERA guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott:
"I don't have a big official statement. I do have a lot of inside knowledge on the PANTERA feud from Philip's side and tonight he gave me the green light to let everyone else in on what I know. He trusts me to do this, and I take 100 percent responsibility for anything that is inaccurate, but I'm confident you all know I'm not going to touch on this subject unless it's from the heart. He didn't even give me any specifics except for the final part of this post... he just wants me to tell people what I know to be true.
"Philip loved Darrell like a brother, always. They accomplished things together that most wouldn't even dare to dream. None of us can know what it's like to be riding such a big machine, it changes the face of music and brings joy millions of people's lives around the globe. The rewards are big, but the stress is unimaginable if things don't go perfectly. Yes, PANTERA broke up and there was a lot of shit-talking through the media. There are two people on this board who would periodically ask me about what's going to happen with PANTERA in the future. I told them each time that I don't know when, but I'm 100 percent sure that we will see PANTERA together again. I told them that when PANTERA does get back together, you will know somebody who never lost faith, not for a second. Why did I tell them this? Because I know Philip loves those guys and when he was ready, he would reach out to them and try to make it work again. I had the feeling that one morning (afternoon maybe), all the 'Cowboys From Hell' boys would just roll out of the rack and say 'Let's go!'

As for Rex, he would refer to the state of things simply as 'silly nonsense.' All I ever got out of Philip was something like 'Nyaaaa... I just don't feel like sitting down and writing PANTERA riffs right now.' ... and that's it! No crazy accusations, name-calling, or carrying on. As a matter of fact, in the middle of all the heat, Philip described Vinnie as 'the perfect drummer' and that Vinnie could drum more perfect than a drum machine if he so chose. What he said of Dime, he also repeated tonight. 'The best of the best.'

Paul DiAnno Attacked On Stage In Israel
According to BW&BK, former Iron Maiden frontman Paul DiAnno was attacked by a crazed fan during his live stage performance on Friday, December 10th at the Barbie in Tel Aviv, Israel. The security managed to stop the attack, but Dianno was badly shaken, and managed to conclude his performace.
EDIT: This story was denied by the promoters, who said that no such thing has, in fact, happened. It's now hard to say who started the rumour in the first place. We apologise for this misinformation.

Korpiklaani - Release Date And A New Video Online
Finnish Folk metal band Korpiklaani has set the release date for their 2nd album, Voice Of Wilderness will be released 24th of january.
They've also completed work on the video to "Hunting Song", off the upcoming album. The track, along with eight others, are sure to inspire fans of the Finnish woodsmen, as well as fans of the Folk Metal genre.
Download the video to catch a glipse of these wildmen caught in the middle of Finnish film history: The images seen in the video are the only footage remaining of a 1927 film destroyed in a fire. The 18 seconds of rescued material are a unique piece of Finnish film history. The rights to use the footage were granted to KORPIKLAANI by the son, now 87 years old, of the original copyright holder. The film was entitled "Ei auta itku markkinoilla".

Ensiferum - Line Up Change
Ensiferum regretfully announces, that the bassplayer Jukka-Pekka Miettinen has resigned from the band for personal reasons.
He doesn't have time for Ensiferum anymore. Miettinen will play in the two last gigs this year in X mass festival 18.12.2004 in Holland and 19.12.2004 in Belgium. A new bass player is found for Ensiferum. Bass will be played by Sami Hinkka.

Atrocity and Leaves Eyes attacked by French police
After their grand finale show of the Atlantis Lovelorn Tour in La Locomotive, Paris, 28.11.2004, the bands experienced an arbitrary infringement by the French police.
Right after crew and band had finished the loading of their bus in front of La Locomotive and the adjacent varieté Moulin Rouge, policemen appeared and told the bus driver to leave the street immediately. Due to traffic jam this was not possible at once. The policemen started to speak in a very aggressive tone that culminated in the threat of arresting the bus driver. Moreover, they took his papers away, thus Liv Kristine and Alexander Krull complained about the rude behaviour of the police. Then, suddenly a bunch of policemen, some in civil dresses, rushed the bus and attacked the musicians. As a result of their action, Alex Krull was injured, as several policemen beat him and violently pulled him out of the bus and down to the grown. Also, Liv Kristine was thrown against the wall of the bus and was hurt, too. Without any explanations, Alex Krull was arrested, along with him bus driver Helge, the Dutch tour guide Harald and the German journalist Robert Suß who had only tried to calm the policemen and keep them from attacking Liv Kristine again. They were all arrested in front of hundreds of visitors at Moulin Rouge and other clubs who witnessed the happening. The four of them were taken to the police station, where they had to stay for about three hours without any explanation for the arrest, any hearing or announcing of their rights. Only intensive pressure from the German embassy lead to their release. Still the police gave no explanation for their aggressive treatment, nor any excuse.
All these facts concerning these inconceivable happenings will be announced to both the German Foreign Bureau and the Head of Police in Paris.

"Just want to fill you all in... This new CD is fully mixed and mastered and after an all night session at the Hit Factory, finishing the mix and then a drive back to Tampa from Miami at 4am, only to start a photo session with Joe Giron starting at 11am and finishing up last night at 9pm. I am sitting here right now cranking the fucking shit out of this motherfucker. Its full on brutal death metal guys -I mean heavy as fuck! The title track is on right now--this is the first CD ive done in a long time probably since Max Violence that I'm just freaking out on. I don't know how we put this together, but we did and its really, really incredible. Just had to share that with you this new CD will rip your fucking heads off. That's a promise-late Barnes

"Brainstorm have decided to postpone the release of their upcoming album "Liquid Monster". "We simply want to give the best possible album to our fans and due to some changes in the time-schedule of the recordings we got the chance to take some more time", comments guitar player Torsten Ihlenfeld. The single-CD "All Those Words" will be released the 7th of March, 2005. It will include new songs as well as unreleased tracks and video-clips and is meant as an appetizer for greater things to come. Talking about the full length album, the new Brainstorm longplayer "Liquid Monster" is due for release the 4th of April, 2005!
"This album will fullfill your high expectations", says Torsten. "We are simply overwhelmed by the new songs and the recording process which is running very smooth by now."

"Belgian gory death metallers ABORTED will enter Antfarm Studios in Denmark on December 8 with producer Tue Madsen (THE HAUNTED, PANZERCHRIST, MNEMIC, EKTOMORPH, DESTINY) to begin recording their new full-length album, "The Archaic Abattoir", tentatively due in early 2005. Among the 10 songs expected to appear on the album is a re-worked version of "Gestated Rabidity" (off the group's "The Haematobic" EP), as well as "The Inertia", "A Cold Logistic Slaughter", "The Archaic Abattoir", and "Parturient Homicidal Craving"."

"Greetings! We've been in writing mode now for sometime and the new material is coming along; at this time we have 9 completed songs (8 of which we will use for sure for the new album). We can reveal a few of the new song titles: "Curse reborn" "Hail to the chief" "Wash this planet clean" (sample mp3 http://agentsteelonline.com/washthisplanet.mp3 ). Plans are to write another 4 songs and then start the recording process. We are scheduled to perform live at the Keep-It-True Festival in Germany on April 2nd 2005 with more live dates TBA. Our live DVD is still in the works; the as-yet-untitled disc will mainly include live footage from our appearance
at Dynamo Open Air 2004 festival in Holland
and also a few songs from the warm up show at the Effenaar in Eindhoven and some bonus material.
