S-Tool - New Band From Ville Laihiala

Vocalist Ville Laihiala of Sentenced and Poisonblack fame has launched a new band called S-Tool. He is joined in the Finland-based group by drummer Aksu Hanttu (Entwine), bassist Kimmo Hiltunen (Lullacry) and guitarist Sami Leppikangas. Jason Newsted - Launches New Project

The short-lived Newsted project might be over but American bass player Jason Newsted (ex-Metallica, Voivod, Flotsam And Jetsam) is launching a new acoustic project called Would And Steal with Rob Tucker. Stay tuned for more news about that coming soon but he has debuted the new acoustic duo Would And Steal at Mighty Fine Guitars in California. You can watch that performance here. To/Die/For - Come To An End

Suomi metal band To/Die/For just announced their farewell. The Finnish band broke up after 17 years as a band, Cult being their last album, released last year. It will all be over and one of their last performances will be at the John Smith Festival in Laukaa, Finland.

Kypck - New Album Coming In September

Doom metal band from Finland Kypck, who sing in Russian, will bring us another Siberian Winter this upcoming September. Guns N' Roses - Detained At Canadian Border For Gun Possession

Guns N' Roses was detained at the Canadian border for having a gun on board, frontman Axl Rose revealed to a sold-out crowd of 50,000 at Toronto's Rogers Centre Saturday night (July 16th). The singer waited until the evening's 18th song, "Out Ta Get Me," before telling the story. At least they are being true to their band name. Guns N' Roses are currently on the road on their Not In This Lifetime tour, with Rose joined in the lineup by guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan. Original drummer Steven Adler also joined the band onstage recently, appearing at shows in Nashville and Cincinnati.

Chicago Open Air - Fan Dies After Fall At The Festival

A 29-year-old North Side man died tragically this Friday night after falling two stories from a railing to the pavement below on opening night of the three-day Chicago Open Air Festival at Toyota Park in Bridgeview. The Chicago Sun-Times reports that just after 10 p.m., Robert Smucz was sitting on a railing watching the concert on the mezzanine level of Toyota Park at 7000 Harlem Avenue when he fell two stories to the cement pavement below, according to city spokesman Ray Hanania.

An Abstract Illusion - Stream Windir Cover

Hailing from the Swedish town of Boden, the progressive death metal trio An Abstract Illusion will release a new album, Illuminate The Path, this 27th of July 2016. This is the debut album from band. Megadeth - Bassist Breaks Foot, Cancel Shows

On July 15th, Megadeth were slated to perform at the Rockmaraton Festival in Dunaujvaros, Hungary, but had to cancel the show when bassist David Ellefson broke his foot backstage before the band went on. After planning to save the show, mainman Dave Mustaine informed the crowd that Megadeth would not be playing. The thrash band has canceled the remaining two shows on their European tour, including the Harley Days festival in Slovakia Saturday night and the Masters Of Rock festival in the Czech Republic on Sunday, July 17th.

Deströyer 666 - Frontman Picks Fight With Fans At Metal Magic Fest

The 2016 edition of Denmark's Metal Magic Festival this past Saturday, July 9th, didn't end well and things got a little weird. Metalized Magazine reports that Australia's extreme metallers Deströyer 666 spent much of their set time fighting with the audience. Guitarist/vocalist K.K. has now apologized for the incident via Facebook and says he was drunk and it's all part of Rock and Roll.

HammerFall - New Album In November, Tour Announced

After the hard work on their new album, HammerFall will hit the road again. The mighty power metallers have also confirmed that their new record is dropping this November 4th, 2016 on their new label Napalm Records. Aerosmith - Guitarist Joe Perry Hospitalized After Collapsing On Stage

Aerosmith's guitarist Joe Perry is now in a stable condition at a New York hospital after falling ill at a concert, police said. The musician, 65, had taken to the stage Sunday at Coney Island with his group the Hollywood Vampires when he collapsed and was rushed to the hospital. The Hollywood Vampires is also made up of singer Alice Cooper and actor Johnny Depp.
