Nordic Union is the name behind the new musical collaboration, built by Frontiers president Serafino Perugino, between singer Ronnie Atkins of the Danish hard rock institution Pretty Maids and the up-and-coming Swedish songwriter and producer Erik Martensson of Eclipse and W.E.T. fame.

Halestorm - Release 'I Am The Fire' Video

Halestorm have a new video out for the song "I Am The Fire". When Halestorm came up with the title for "I Am The Fire", the band thought about all the different things that it could mean. Guitarist Joe Hottinger said: "I think the lyric that sums up the whole song best is, 'I am the one that I've been waiting for.' It's the idea that nobody is holding you back except yourself. So be the fire." The track is taken from the new album Into The Wild Life and the clip is available for your viewing pleasure here.

Motörhead - Former Drummer Philthy Phil Passes Away

Heavy metal legends Motörhead have lost their former drummer Phil Taylor aka Philthy Phil, who died at the age of 61. He was the band's drummer from 1975-1984 and later from 1987-1992. After that, current drummer Mikkey Dee took over the drummer spot. He appeared on the band's debut album and played on a further 10 albums, including 1979's Bomber, 1980's Ace Of Spades, and 1981 live album No Sleep 'Til Hammersmith. He contributed to 1992 album March Or Die but departed the band during the recording process. It seems like he was ill for quite some time. R.I.P.

Ritchie Blackmore - Unveils Lineup For Rock Shows

Legendary guitarist Ritchie Blackmore will perform Rainbow and Deep Purple material at select European shows next year. The U.K. concert will take place on June 25th at the Genting Arena in Birmingham. The performance will be Blackmore's first U.K. rock show in over 20 years. The two shows in Germany will take place at the Monsters Of Rock festival on June 17th, 2016 at Freilichtbühne in Loreley and on June 18th, 2016 at Festplatz am Viadukt in Bietigheim-Bissingen. Blackmore will be joined by Lords Of Black singer Ronnie Romero, Stratovarius keyboardist Jens Johansson, Blackmore's Night drummer David Keith and bassist Bob Nouveau.
