Bloody Panda - Inked Deal With Profound Lore Records

As posted on the Profound Lore Records website, Brooklyn, NY avant-doom juggernaut Bloody Panda will see its new full-length masterpiece released via Profound Lore Records this summer. Following the band's impressive debut full-length, "Pheromone," the band is putting the finishing touches on 60-plus minutes of cerebral, epic, and haunting hymnals; a no-training-wheels cinematic plunge into the unending nightmare that began four years ago with the band's debut release (a split with fellow east coast experimentalists Kayo Dot). Once again featuring the ghostly, death-defying wails of siren Yoshiko Ohara, the new Bloody Panda opus is a monstrous cry from the depths. Almost like if film directors Takashi Miike and Michaelangelo Antonioni had a bastard horror-film child and raised him in Indonesia or Estonia, Bloody Panda's forthcoming release would likely be the soundscape. More news surrounding Bloody Panda impending.

Autumnblaze - New Album Details

Prophecy Productions press release

Autumnblaze... that does ring a bell, doesn't it? The band who ventured into the realms of alternative rock with their last album "Words Are Not What They Seem" (2004) and then imploded two years later because of internal differences now sees its phoenix-like resurrection - the classic line-up of Eldron, Arisjel, and Schwadorf (The Vision Bleak etc.) has come together again to record a new album.

"Perdition Diaries" is something of a statement, the fruit of a return to the roots of Autumnblaze, and it comes across like a creative eruption. This album is a tribute to 1990's-era dark metal, to a time where the conventions of metal were trampled underfoot and the genre's conceptual chains were irrevocably broken from the inside. Autumnblaze mastermind Eldron puts it more precisely, "Bands such as Paradise Lost, Anathema, Katatonia, My Dying Bride, Dark Tranquillity, or At The Gates are prime examples for an exploration of the human soul, the struggle of the individual against the chasms of life. Away from the metal standards of the 1980's, towards a kind of deeply emotional resistance against the norms. We spit on all those who are blindfolded by their own limitations, and we continue that which was begun in the early nineties!"

In 2009, Autumnblaze have returned to the unvarnished originality of their artistic and creative urge. Intense music enwrought with whipping melodies and full of aggression, and pieces with basic instrumentation filled with a fragile despair - between these musical poles the lyrics unfold their "Perdition Diaries": hopes, dreams, the powerful secrets of music, arrogance, annihilation, loss, and despondency. The personal destinies portrayed here turn into symbols that come alive in the depths of the listener's emotions, weaving their own images there and opening their own unique, sealed-up diaries.

The release of "Perdition Diaries" is set for June 15, 2009. You can get a first glimpse of the album here (m3u) with the song "Brudermord".

"Perdition Diaries" will feature the following cover art and tracklisting:

01. Wir Sind Was Wir Sind
02. Who Are You?
03. I Had To Burn This Fucking Kingdom
04. Haughtiness And Puerile Dreams
05. Brudermord
06. Empty House
07. Neugeburt
08. Ways
09. The Forge
10. Saviour

Winterland - Rename To Silent Fall, Recording Debut Album

A new dawn has come for Winterland. As you probably know, the band will soon come up to the Wildpath Studio to record its first album.

For this occasion, the band will change its name to Silent Fall. This announcement may certainly surprise a lot of you, but you have to reckon that this decision was hard to take because we are using this name since 2005. In fact, another Winterland, coming from Germany, exists, and has already released two albums. This band owns the rights on the name, and that's why we can't continue to use it. In brief, our music will stay the same and we'll continue to play the songs that you already know, but when the album is released, you have to look for us at the S letter instead of the W letter.

This change goes hand in hand with the arrival of a new guitar player, Pierre Cabannes. Olivier and I have known him for more than a year, and he owns all the technical and scenic abilities required. Here is the line-up of Silent Fall during the recording:

Adrien Eyraud - Vocals
Guillaume Tertis - Keyboards
Olivier Caron - Guitars
Pierre Cabannes - Guitars
Sylvain Rousselle - Bass Guitar
Fabio Carnielli - Drums

The album's name will be "Otherwise" and will include about ten tracks along with "Kill For Life", "I Wish", "World of Secrets" and "Forever and Ever". This album will be kind of traditional speed melodic metal, blended with some progressive and death melodic parts. Don't expect to find as before the tracks that you already know. They have all been revisited to give a unity to this album. Furthermore, three guests may appear on this album. We can't announce their names at the moment, but there should be a female singer, a keyboard player and a guitar player.

We'll give you more news as soon as possible. At the moment, just know that we'll be back on the road at the end of the year and that we'll try to release the album at
the same time. Finally, a new website will appear soon.

Trigger The Bloodshed - To Replace Warpath As Support To Evile

Evile guitarist Ol Drake has posted the following update concerning the direct support slot on the band's upcoming UK tour with Mutant:

"On Sunday 12th April Warpath let us know they have to pull out of our tour (which starts today, Wednesday 15th April) due to their lead guitarist being "indirectly involved in a motorcycle accident" on the 8th. We wish them all the best and hope he has a speedy recovery.

We only had 2/3 days to find a replacement band.

It's such short notice for any band to be able to accomodate themselves to a tour which starts in a few days, which already has arrangements and agreements made, but I want to personally thank our friends Trigger The Bloodshed for stepping up and being willing to take part in the tour in place of Warpath. I'd like everyone to show Trigger The Bloodshed the same respect and consideration they've shown us in this situation by giving them a warm welcome onto the tour at the upcoming shows."

Here are the dates again:

04/15 - Birmingham UK, Barfly
04/16 - Newcastle UK, Academy 2
04/17 - Manchester UK, Academy 3
04/18 - Dublin IRE, Fibber Magees
04/19 - Cork IRE, An Cruiscin Lan

Sacred Oath - New Video Online

MTV has the exclusive on the world premier of the new video from Sacred Oath "Counting Zeros". Check it out at this location.

"Counting Zeros," also the first single from the self-titled new album, was handpicked by iTunes as their Discovery Download Pick Of The Week for April 7th, and the band quickly set upon creating a video for the song.

"I couldn't be happier," said lead singer/guitarist Rob Thorne in a written statement released by the label Angel Thorne Music. "Counting Zeros is my favorite track on the album for so many reasons, not least of which is the lyric content. A few years ago we were uncovering the corruption underneath the war in Iraq. Now we're neck deep in AIG bonuses and Bernie Madoff. 'Counting Zeros' is a call to arms."

It seems fitting for a band whose loyal fans refer to themselves as "Oathbangers" to pair up with Headbanger's Blog for the video debut. Sacred Oath released their first album in 1987 ("A Crystal Vision") when Headbanger's Ball was new and enjoying tremendous popularity. "Our fans have always been the "oathbanger"," says Thorne. "Everyone was bangin' something back then," he says with a smile.

The new album from Sacred Oath cracked the Top 50 on the rock charts within the first three days of sales on iTunes. At the #46 position (and climbing), this is already the best-selling album ever for the band. "Unbelievable," croaked Thorne from a 7:30 am wakeup call announcing the chart stats. "This is our time. Classic metal is back. Hand me the damn flag, I'll wave it with pride."

Royal Hunt - Working On New Album

Royal Hunt are entering the very final stages of preproduction for their new - tenth since their debut in 1991 - studio album (the actual recordings will start by the end of this month). This time the band decided to revisit their roots and incorporate some of the musical values of the 70´s into their songwriting as well as - in order to reinforce that particular atmosphere - employing mostly "retro" means of production (recording in analogue format exclusively being one of them). Music has been described as "an interesting mix of what's been tagged as Classic Rock nowadays (established by Kansas, Genesis, ELP´s earlier works and Deep Purple, Uriah Heep´s classics from the same era) and Royal Hunt´s trademark composition/delivery".

The album is expected to be mixed/mastered sometime during the summer.

Angelcorpse - Disbanding

US Blackened Death metal band Angelcorpse are disbanding. A short statement relating to this decision reads as follows: due to musical differences amongst its members, it has been decided with much consideration to end Angelcorpse.

Angelcorpse, formed in 1995, already disbanded once before, after the N. American tour with Satyricon, Immortal and Krisiun in May 2000, following the release of "The Inexorable". The band got back together in 2006.
