The Project Hate MCMXCIX - Coldworker Guitarist Steps In

Guitarist Petter S. Freed has left The Project Hate, the Swedish band featuring vocalist Jörgen Sandström (ex-Entombed, Grave), guitarist Lord K. Philipson (God Among Insects, ex-Leukemia), bassist Michael Håkansson (Engel, ex-Evergrey), vocalist Jo Enckell (Ignorance Bliss) and drummer Daniel "Mojjo" Moilanen (Relevant Few, Dracena, Runemagick, Lord Belial, Engel). New guitarist is Anders Bertilsson, known from Ruin and Coldworker.

Commented Petter S. Freed: "I've had lots of pleasant musical moments this far in my life. Many of them have been being locked up in a 200-square-foot flat with K. The magic that went down between 2002-2008 in that flat is something I will always look back at with a smile."

"So, why quit? It's simple, I just don't feel like doing it anymore. I've lost the TPH vibe somewhere. I don't know why, and I don't know where. But it's fuckin' gone. From the inside, I can say that the future for TPH is brighter then ever, the new stuff sounds demonic and K is pumped as usual to bring domination."

Commented Lord K. Philipson: "The choice was obvious. Anders and myself accidentally found out about a year ago that we work very well together, one thing led to another and all of a sudden we were writing material for The Project Hate MCMXCIX. And since Mazza didn't show much interest in being a part of it, we naturally continued writing together. And continued. And continued. Until one day we realized that we had actually completed 7 songs. 7 tunes that sound better than anything we have ever done in the past, and fuck knows we have done some fantastic shit. So, it was a no-brainer to ask Anders to join The Hate as he pretty much already was in the family."

The full lengthy statements by Petter S. Freed, Lord K. Philipson and Anders Bertilsson can be found here.

Sanctity - Three New Members

The following Sanctity update by original members Jeremy London (drums) and Zeff Childress (guitar) was posted on the band's MySpace page:

"Hey guys, this is probably long over due. So here is the rap about whats been going on with us. WE DID NOT BREAK UP!!! Yes we are still together. Basically to make a long story short Jared had a baby and decided to step down as our singer/guitar player. Derek as well decided to leave for his own personal reasons, there was no bad blood with anyone, those guys are our brothers and we had a good run with them. So now for the future of Sanctity, WE have three new members Scott Smith on bass, Zach Jordan on rythem gutar, and Nate Queen filling the shoes of Front man, we will have new pics up soon for everyone to see as well as some new songs once we are done. Zeff and I have never been happier with a lineup before, it's sad to see the guys go, but it's inspiring to have these new guys with us. We can't be happier with the response and support we have had from everyone so far. Make sure to stay updated with all our new stuff."

Saxon - Recording New Album

Saxon vocalist Peter "Biff" Byford has posted the following update, adressed to the visitors of the Saxon forum:

"We took of the link, this is the official web site of the band we understand that it was put on in total innocence but until OD (OLIVER/DAWSON) decide to stop trying to undermine the achievements of this band we will continue not to support them in anyway if and when they stop trying to con people and concede that times have changed can we enter into any conciliatory talks. They are the ones blocking any future. As you know in my book I did not slag them of in any way and still say that they were great times but we have to move on the ball is in their court.

On a more pleasant note we are in the studio making the next album, while recording guitars I was on the net looking at Coat Of Arms. My coat is a silver eagle holding a lions foot. Doug) Scrarratt (guitar) and (Paul) Quinn (guitar) are both Irish which explains a lot. (Nigel) Glockler (drums) is of German dissent. Well anyway, you get the picture - put coat of arms in Google and have a look, maybe post some crests on the site.

Further to your questions, I do look at the site every day - guest book and forum especially - so as you can see were playing tons of festivals this year and with our mates Mötorhead in the UK and Germany, so the eagle is rising again so keep the faith. See you on tour."

Catamenia - Part Ways With Vocalist

Bravewords is reporting that, Catamenia have parted ways with singer Olli-Jukka Mustonen. Guitarist Ari Nissilä has issued the following update:

"The fear that something negative will happen turned into reality at Montreal when we realized that Olli, our lead vocalist, won't show up there. Unfotunately he missed his flight at Paris CDG airport, but we did hope that he could fly to Montreal next day with reserved ticket, but this never happened.

Now, we had a nightmare staring us. We didn't came all the way to Canada just to inform that this is it, we can't do the tour. When the first shock was over, we start to seek the solution. Since I was doing vocals on rehearsals just for this kind of 'impossible situations,' we wanted to give a shot for it, so I'm going to do lead vocals.

So, the show went better than none of us dared to hope, and so did the second, the third and so on. People who were listening our concerts took me open minded as a lead vocalist... and... they liked what they heard.

This misfortune led to conversation about the band's future. The solution is that the whole band wanted to me be as lead singer from now on. I am speechless about this and still try to get it in my mind what the hell is happening. One thing is sure? I will give that 110 percentage and my heart for this band, like I have done all the years I have lived with Catamenia. Now there is just more responsibility, but the train is very same, so is the man.

Guys of Catamenia did everything that I won't break before the first show doing lead vocals. These guys trusted, helped and supported me the way that I still wonder how can I thank them enough. The pressure was so huge that I would never make it without these guys.

Now after few days in home solving things in my head, I have one thing to say to these guys? This band is my family! You guys are the brothers I never had! I will do everything for you ? without any doubt. Thousand thanks for you for your trust and support!

For fans... We hope that you look this as a new page in Catamenia 's path and be open-minded. We will guarantee you that with your trust and help, the triumph of Catamenia is just about to begin! WE WILL MANAGE, is our motto all together.

For Olli... We really do hope all the best for you in the future and we hope from our hearts that we can stay as friends as before because you can always consider us as your friends."

As previously reported, Link], the band will enter the studio in July to record their new album "VIII".

Deicide - Glen Benton Is Touring Again

In a statement sent today to the Earache REcords offices, Glen Benton gives an update on his whereabouts and future plans for Deicide:

"It is with great pleasure to announce that I will be performing with Deicide once again after a 14 month absence and that my legal issues that have prevented myself from performing have been resolved. Without going into great detail about my personal life, because I am a person who prefers his privacy. I wish to extend my apologies to the promoters and to my business associates who may have been inconvenienced.

I look forward to rejoining Steve, Jack and Ralph on stage, and I would like to announce that we are presently booking exclusive dates or the United States and Europe for 2008 in support of "Till Death Do Us Part". I will be performing exclusive dates in major markets and festival dates only as to accommodate my parental responsibilities.

The U.S. tour package will consist of Adrift from Tampa, Florida and Malevolent Creation in support of Deicide, with Malevolent supporting us on the Europe run as well. I would like to extend a thank you to my family, friends, and fans, and to everyone involved on the front lines and behind the scenes that supported me through this process."
