Yob - Frontman Recovering From Emergency Surgery, Crowdfunding Campaign Launched

Yob's frontman Mike Scheidt is lucky to be alive following a terrifying medical emergency for diverticulitis. He recently underwent emergency intestinal surgery. A GoFundMe crowdfunding campaign has been set up and all donations go towards his medical bills for past and upcoming surgeries, as well as living expenses while he heals. Furthermore, you can attend the benefit show for Mike in Portland on March 16th. Over 27,000 dollars have already been raised so far.

Marduk - Show In Oakland Cancelled Over Police Concerns

Swedish black metallers Marduk's show in Oakland, California was canceled "in the name of public safety" last night over concerns from Oakland police that the group would draw anti-fascist protesters. Marduk was supposed to play at the Oakland Metro Opera House. Police say the band has been criticized for glorifying Nazi imagery and anti-Semitism.

Dimmu Borgir - Unveil Clip From Upcoming DVD

As 2017 marks the year of the return of Norwegian symphonic black metal giants Dimmu Borgir, they will release their anticipated double-DVD, Forces Of The Northern Night, on April 28th. Available in different formats, the release will contain two live rituals: their legendary concert in Oslo, showing Dimmu Borgir on stage with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra and a bombastic choir, as well as the entire performance at Wacken Open Air with almost 100 musicians in action. For now, the Norwegians unveil their first video from the Wacken show where they perform the hymn "Mourning Palace" live with the Czech National Symphonic Orchestra.

Iron Maiden - Bolivian Parents Name Baby 'Iron Maiden'

Why name your kid Apple or Bruce when you can call him Iron Maiden? That's exactly what a Bolivian family from the city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra decided to name their newborn son in honour of the heavy metal band. Their decision has made headlines. The boy's birth certificate has been released, which displays his full name as Iron Maiden Duran Ruiz. At least they didn't name the boy Anal Cunt or Paracoccidioidomicosisproctitissarcomucosis!

Almanac - To Release New Album And Record Show For DVD

In March 2016, the symphonic metal cavaliers Almanac, led by ex-Rage guitarist Victor Smolski, unleashed their acclaimed debut album, Tsar, but now they are on their first headline tour ever! This trek started on February 4th in Roselare, Belgium and there are still some shows in Germany and The Netherlands left. Just right after this tour, the band will start the recordings of their second album, which is scheduled to be released in summer 2017. In addition, Almanac is confirmed to play at the Masters of Rock festival. This show will be recorded and published as a bonus DVD on the limited first edition of the upcoming album.

Power Quest - Join Inner Wound Recordings For New Album Release

Amorphis - Share Live Track Video Feat. Anneke Van Giersbergen

Finnish masters of melancholic progressive metal Amorphis recently played special shows ("An Evening With Friends" at Juhlaviikot - Huvila) in Helsinki, where they performed a very special setlist with guest musicians and friends. These shows will be part of the new tour edition which is scheduled to be released on February 24th via Nuclear Blast. The package includes the entire album Under The Red Cloud with two bonus songs as well as the live tracks in Helsinki. So, the band unveils the first video to one of these live tracks. The video shows the song "Her Alone" featuring Anneke van Giersbergen, which is the last song of the bonus CD. You can watch the clip here.
