Behemoth - Added To Ozzfest 07; Album Update

Polish extreme metal titans Behemoth are proud to announce their addition to the Ozzfest 2007 lineup having landed the direct support, non-rotating slot right before second stage headliners Hatebreed. This is the first time a Polish act has ever participated in Ozzfest.

Nergal (vocals, guitars) states, "I couldn't be more proud about the fact that Behemoth will be joining this year's Ozzfest! I'm speechless and beyond excited. No doubt it's going to be the brightest point of our career thus far, and I hope that this will help to spread dangerous and extreme music among the masses.

"It's an honor to team up with our longtime brothers in Nile and to share the stage with Lamb of God and Hatebreed, not to mention the legend himself! With such a bill, you can expect nothing but pure metal carnage! What makes me even more excited is the little fact that we will be releasing our new album during the tour. So expect songs from "The Apostasy", as well as some older shit. We'll definitely make sure the set is going to be brutal as fuck. You've been warned!"

Behemoth built their career upon their unrelenting touring schedule, performing over 325 shows worldwide for the Demigod album campaign. With Ozzfest, the group kicks off the worldwide touring cycle in support of their highly anticipated new album, "The Apostasy", which is set for a July release.

The group's most ambitious and epic offering yet, "The Apostasy", was recorded in the band's hometown of Gdansk with Nergal and longtime sound engineer Malta in the producers' chairs. The effort is currently being mixed with the acclaimed Daniel Bergstrand (In Flames, Meshuggah, Strapping Young Lad) at Dugout Studios in Sweden and mastered by Bjorn Engelmann (Rammstein, Samael).

Emperor - Schedule Two European Festival Appearances

After triumphantly headlining the annual Wacken Open Air Festival and their triumphant wrecking of London's Astoria last year, Emperor announce two rare appearances at European festivals this summer:

June 24 Clisson (France), Hellfest (MS Event Page)

June 30 Helsinki (Finland), Tuska Open Air (MS Event Page)

"The demand for further Emperor shows in Europe has been overwhelming", comments guitarist Samoth. "We have been looking at several offers, but have decided to commit to these two festivals. With the success of the festivals we played last year, we're really looking forward to these events"

Please check the official festival-homepages for information on availability of tickets: http://www.hellfest.fr and http://www.tuska-festival.fi.

Behemoth - Enters The Studio; Reveals New Album Title

Polish extreme metal titans Behemoth entered the studio this week (December 11) to begin tracking their much-anticipated new album, "The Apostasy" (thesaurus definition of the word: the state of having rejected your religious beliefs or your political party or a cause ) which is currently set for a summer release. The new effort will be recorded in the band's hometown with mainman Nergal and longtime sound engineer Malta in the producer's chair.

Nergal (vocals, guitars) checks in with the following report: "We just demoed the whole new album and have 11 songs plus intro ready to go. It all sounds huge and our sound has never been this intense, while being very epic and catchy at the same time. It has all the Behemoth trademarks enriched with some fresh ideas. I guarantee some people are going to be surprised! Some songtitles include: 'Prometherion', 'Pazuzu (The Desert Storms Bringing)', 'Slaying The Prophets Ov Isa', 'Rome 64 E.V.', 'Arcana Hereticae', 'At The Left Hand Ov God', with more to follow. The recording sessions for 'The Apostasy' will take place in our hometown, Gdansk, in one of the best-equipped studios in Poland, Radio Gdansk. It has an old-school analogue Studer 24-track machine, which gives super unique tone to drum sound. I simply love it. It has the best mixing console, pre-amps and other shit available nowadays.

"It's no secret that Behemoth have been one of the busiest bands in the scene for last two years. We completed over 300 shows in support to our last record, 'Demigod', and have been in front of people's faces for a long time, so I felt that it was necessary to take a break. I thought that all of this activity might be too much, even for die-hard fans. I decided to focus on song writing and nothing else. I pretty much isolated myself from the whole scene for a few months and ultimately created a new record that is destined to become the definitive Behemoth release.
