Within Temptation - New Video Online
"Faster", the new video from Within Temptation can now be watched over at Kerrang!
The new single Faster will be released digitally on March 13. The song is taken from Within Temptation's new album, The Unforgiving, which will hit stores on March 28.
In other news, the band will debut a short film on the band's official site this afternoon, 5pm CET. The first movie, titled Mother Maiden, ties in with "Faster," introducing the main characters of the narrative.
These movies give further insight into the concept of The Unforgiving and are based on the comic storyline; the characters are impersonated by actors. Each film is followed by a band performance that, all together, form a dark and compelling tale of life, love, revenge, rage, and regret.
All fans who share the Mother Maiden short film via their social network on Facebook or Twitter using a "pay-with-a-tweet" application, will not only receive a brand new Within Temptation wallpaper in return but have exclusive access to an online listening party for the album pre-release.

The song sounds a bit like HIM's cover of Wicked Game. for me it sounds nice and come on, you eyeliner boys and corset girls crying about "selling out", quit whining already. would you really rather have them make something they're possibly tired of doing? just find something else to listen to, instead of expecting everyone to always be tireless champions of pure artistic integrity 24/7

Come on, don't be whinies. As the dude said, everyone gets tired of doing the same thing throughout all career. Bands need to evovle. If that is WT's path then so be it. You can follow it or just listen to the old stuff.

I don't like the video, I don't like their new web site and I don't like the change they've gone through to what seems like an ordinary rock band. Yet I will probably get this album as I'm a sucker for catchy melodies. I WANT to dislike Faster (musicaly) but somehow I can't really... As all bands they progress and do new things. Sometimes we don't like it sometimes we do, that's the nature of creating music.

Written by Rasa on 31.01.2011 at 17:36 you're both right on some level, the song is quite nice, reminds me of bon jovi and i still like bon jovi  but on the other hand it's funny how most bands "evolution" tends to be in the pop-ular direction once they get some recognition, just an obseervation... personally this band died for me with the previous album, but no so much that i wouldn't go to see them live though. i loved them live

Terrible. Guitar solo wasn't existent, chorus consisted of one word, could barely even hear the instrumentals. I can't think of anything this song did well.

Why not... playing in a band is like any other job: If you're a professional you will still do it well even if you're tire of it. 2. you're confusing me with someone else, I'm not accusing them of selling out -I don't even think they were too idealist about art before but I liked the music nevertheless. 3. who knows... I personally think this style change is due to a corporate decision that targets a new audience. I don't really buy they are making their dream true, at least not musically speaking.
