Saxon - Music Featured In Movie Soundtrack

Saxon have penned two tracks for the forthcoming British film Hybrid Theory.

The movie will be directed by James Erskin (One Night in Turin), and is starring Noel Clarke (Kidulthood), Martin McCann (Killing Bono, Clash of The Titons), Martin Compston (Disappearance of Alice Creed), Craig Conway (Descent, Dog Soldiers, Doomsday). Shooting will begin in June this year.

The tracks feature on Saxon's new album Call to Arms and have been written specially for the film.

Hybrid Theory follows a group of British soldiers who find themselves in a life or death battle with an enemy beyond their wildest nightmares in this slick Sci-Fi/Horror with a twist.

Hybrid Theory producer Lionel Hicks sums up the collaboration: "It's great to have a band like Saxon involved in the soundtrack to this film. These new songs really capture the mood of the film, and everyone working on it is thrilled."

A teaser trailer for Hybrid Theory will be available to view online at this location in the next few weeks, and rest assured that it will feature the new Saxon tracks extensively!

Very cool! Never too late for some cinematic exposure. Too bad the age of soundtrack cds is already behind us. The movie sounds interesting too, hope a DVD of it will be accessible in other corners of the world.

Saxon being a part of a music soudtrack doesn't suggest a bad thing. Congrats to them for getting that gig. Also, I'd be interested in seeing the film.
