What a shit video....Whats up with all the slow-mo shots of people getting punched in the face & prancing around with sledgehammers & 2x4's? This video makes metalheads look like a bunch of neanderthal retards.

14.04.2012 - 15:44 Written by pagb666 on 14.04.2012 at 14:57 I get that, but it comes across like a clip taken from Jackass. It's obvious what the director was going for but it's poorly executed IMO. It's less 'Vulgar Display of Power' and more 'Lame Display of Stupidity'. As for the song itself, it's great to hear a new song from Pantera Although i see why it never made it onto VDOP in the first place.

14.04.2012 - 18:33 Written by Boxcar Willy on 14.04.2012 at 16:32 It makes thrash something that it shouldn't be: slow/mid-paced, generic in riffs, feelingless and solos aren't impressive at all . At least for me it puts thrash in a bad light and makes me wanna skip the 90s' releases of the specific genre .

14.04.2012 - 18:46 Written by JOPE OF STEELE on 14.04.2012 at 18:33 Err.. generic riffs? I'm pretty sure Dimebag was known for the complete opposite. Feelingless? Cemetry gates and hollow comes to mind. The bit about the solos is mainly true but that's because it's GROOVE music, the hints in the name. And that's just Pantera, plenty of other good groove bands.

Account deleted Written by JOPE OF STEELE on 14.04.2012 at 18:39 God, you're dense. Groove and Grunge killed "the real metal?" What are you, a 12 year old south american kid who's just got into metal by watching MTV? Dude, not even grunge killed metal. Granted, it became more popular than it, but you can never truly kill a music genre, let alone one as big as metal. Grunge is just another form of metal with closer ties to punk and rock, but still metal. Your subjective view is pointless and wrong.

Groove thrash is just a different style of thrash... some people like it, some don't. Groove just gave people another, perhaps softer option... the 90's still gave us some great proper thrash albums from bands like Demolition Hammer and Protector...

14.04.2012 - 19:45 Written by JOPE OF STEELE on 14.04.2012 at 19:34 Maybe because there were so many generic thrash and speed metal bands that people got sick of them? Pantera weren't the best thing since sliced bread, but Jesus they were a breath of fresh air. "The real metal"? You can keep it, thanks.

Account deleted Written by JOPE OF STEELE on 14.04.2012 at 19:34 Thrash and Speed hit their peak too early. At the very beginning of the 90's the 1st wave had already hit the high water mark and changed in terms of style and tried a more commercialistic sound. They were already digging their own grave before Grunge even came up and overtook the sound. The way I see it, Grunge euthanized Thrash metal before it became a shell of what it once was. Groove has absolutely no ties into the mix of all this. It's a stand-alone genre that just happened to develope from Thrash, the same way Thrash developed from Speed. No relation to Grunge whatsoever. If you truly fell Groove had a hand in killing "the real metal" then you are a poseur in every sense of the word.

14.04.2012 - 19:59 Written by gid on 14.04.2012 at 19:45 I agree, in my humble opinion I also think Pantera refreshed our ears during the 90's when iconic bands were either on hiatus (Exodus, Sacred Reich, Rigor Mortis, Mortal Sin, Hallows Eve, etc.) or releasing crappy albums (The Big Four). I think it was a sort of combination of Thrash decadence and Groove innovation, specially Pantera (the best of the bunch). However, nowadays I am very pleased because of the thrash revival movement and I must say I love bands like Warbringer, Fueled by Fire, Strikemaster, Fastkill, Municipal Waste, Hatchet, Rumpelstiltskin Grinder, etc. without forgetting or betraying the respect I have for Pantera and some other similar bands.

I didn't think the song was horrible, but half the song became "Use My Third Arm," which is much better.

Not a fan of the song, I like some pantera but alot of it repeats itself and this song is a prime example.. But since its for a 20th anniversary release I wouldnt expect much.. There is a reason it was previously unreleased.. My big question is was it finished back then or did they just decide to take the vocals and add in riffs from other pantera songs..

Good song, amusing video, and as for the rest i think the rapper Blueprint summed it up perfectly: "It's just music man, ain't no right or wrong, no formula can teach people how to write a song, no guarantee that the people gonna like a song"

From youtube comments Quote: Quote: it makes justice to the video until the fans are incredibly happy about this shit. Song is pretty good but i should give a benefit of doubt over that "elusive less emotion" 5.35 video.

Honestly, I was waiting for a totally different video. I'd say, I'm disappointed. I thought they're gonna use fans' footages to recreate the legacy of Pantera, not just making a video which somehow reminds me of Jackass. It totally fails to pay tribute to the band and its music. Punching in the face just because it's the idea of album cover, was the easiest idea which may come to mind, not the most creative one. They could've done better. Anyway, Pantera rulezzz! & R.I.P. Dimebag.
