Well that is pretty damn badass. Lets hope the album will be worthy of such artwork.

It probably won't be.

I'll go counterflow, but God, I hate this. It's like something you could expect from a crappy power metal band.

It kinda look awesome at first but after awhile it just looks a bit weird.
Actually the more I look into it, it kinda like the painkiller (and Angel Of Retribution?) but with feather wings rather than metal ones.

Ordinary men hate solitude. But the Master makes use of it, embracing his aloneness, realizing he is one with the whole universe (Lao Tzu).

I can't tell if this looks kinda cool, or incredibly cheesy. Maybe a bit of both.

Really not all that surprising, as Priest's influence on power metal has been monumental

In this case it's Priest copying current trends though.

Ehhh, not entirely, considering they helped create some of said trends in the first place. Anyway, I'd expect nothing less in their album artwork, that basically sums up everything the band's about to me and I think it fits its theme quite well. Just hoping the music delivers as well, from the sound of the track that was already released, I think it'll be at least decent.

Is the concept of this album about some storm chaser demon? I see a couple of F-2's in the background.

The quality of the artwork itself is actually very good, but the image is very generic and cheesy, and not in a charming way like their 80's covers were! lol It's far from being a terrible cover, it just lacks any imagination whatsoever... now, where's H.R. Giger when you need him?

The only way they can justify this cover art is if the album sounds like Painkiller.

I wish it was, but what they have let us hear so far couldn't be further from the badassery of Painkiller.

...and like virtually every power metal album. It isn't a Viking warrior, he doesn't have a sword, and there are no allusions to Norse mythology.

^ Well, duh Troy.

I related to AA* cover because of b'ground colour mixture which quite relate with AA artworks. It doesn't mean you gotta have to have sword or norse mythology to prove "yeah, now it's perfectly Amarth art".

I'm just saying if you're going to call it a "typical Amon Amarth cover" it should at least have something more in common than a couple of colors that also happen to be extremely common within pretty much every genre of metal aside from black metal.
