The Faceless - Debut New Song, Announce Tour

Fans haven't listened to new material from The Faceless in a while but that is about to change. However, there is an explanation for that. 2014 especially was a turbulent year for the band with several line-up changes happening, more than usual. Now mainman and frontman Michael "Machine" Keene and The Faceless are making a comeback with a new album. The first song revealed off their upcoming new record is "The Spiraling Void". Listen to it below and don't forget to share your thoughts about it.

The band's new guitarist is Justin McKinney and former bassist Brandon Giffin also played on the new record, which is tentatively titled In Becoming A Ghost. Brandon is the original bassist of The Faceless and played on Akeldama and Planetary Duality.

The Faceless are hitting the road this fall with After The Burial, Rings Of Saturn and Toothgrinder. Tickets go on sale Tuesday, September 29th.

Wow, quite good. 9 times out of 10 I would have navigated away from this page after a few seconds because I associate total boredom with the sound they have going on, but they made it compelling from the off. The whole thing sounds like Gorod at their peak tbh. Constantly interesting song. Will defo be checking out the full length, and also giving Autotheism a revisit as I recall it being pretty fine.

Love the jazzy chord progressions from 2:10 and onward for a bit. Really great tech-death, and I can see where Joe is coming from by saying that it sounds like Gorod at their peak. Not quite as good as the best songs from Autotheism, but pretty damn close, so I can only hope the whole album will impress

Good to see Derek back on the vocals.

How do you know he's doing vocals for this track or album?

Someone asked on Facebook if it was him, and the band replied with a "Yes".

I see. So what's the big deal? Didn't really notice much of a difference been the screams in the last two albums anyway

He is a much better live vocalist in addition to the studio.

Finally had the chance to listen to this and I'm disappointed. The song is all over the place and doesn't live up to the last two albums as I see it. I still have hope for the rest of the album though.

Wow, that was cool. High hopes for the record, but it's gonna be hard to top Autotheism.

This is actually a lot better than I was expecting it to be; I am now officially excited for their next release.

Good song.

What put me off is guitars in-between was badly mixed. It lifted quite nicely from 2.5 mark and ending was just amazing.

Love The Faceless. It's always subjective of course, but the songwriting IMO is just a step above most other tech bands. They really do a good job with the atmosphere, melody, and timely use of cleans that fit the feel of the song as opposed to being straight-ahead catchy in a generic way. Very optimistic after hearing this that the band will continue to churn out quality material despite the shake-ups.

I was sure by now that I won't live to hear a new album by The Faceless. Fingers crossed I won't get stabbed in the kidney 'till the album's out.
