The volume of his bass lines will be lowered in the final mix.

Megadeth have already proven that they could write good material without him (the system has failed, endgame), so hopefully they'll be able to do it again

The woman involved released a statement confirming that she was a consenting adult at all times and the act itself was webcam masturbation between the two. How does that, in your opinion, equate to child molestation or sexual assault?

I suggest you double check your sources before throwing criminal accusations next time

Sounds like an overrated metoo reaction considering the facts of the situation, but people rarely tend to consider the facts of the information, not as exciting

Mustaine says it was an "already strained relationship." Wonder what happened. These people and companies that fire people because of simple accusations tend to forget they are innocent until proven guilty. Any moron who wants money/publicity can accuse a person of misconduct or other acts. Since she was a consenting adult as others here have said, it must be something else...

Mustaine has always been a short tempered douche whose relationships sour (hint, Dave, the one thing all these soured relationships have in common is you), so it's another spin of the revolving band member door. Hope Verburen gets to keep his steady paycheck because he deserves a metal for putting up with all the drama.

The only thing new here is that Ellefson, who has also talked plenty about being Born Again, is now clearly a self-justifying hypocrite.

I think the Daves kinda deserve each other. Drama of the Year - c'mon guys, I know you have it in you. Let your hate flow.

He returned as a hired gun, Mustaine and Jr himself confirmed that years ago, so firing him was the same as firing any other band member.

Wonder if there is more than meets the eye here, as others have said the response seems disproportionate to the act. Wonder if maybe Jr has done something else that hasn't become public yet.

Shame its ended this way for Jr, was a stupid mistake for sure and now he'll go down as that musician shot fired for getting off on video.

I see, both are weird, sad band has put out few good albums in a past. I have not followed this sex news. Many cheat on others.

you said it perfectly; Kiko Loureiro needs a statue too for putting up with Mustaine, who is a fantastic songwriter and guitarist, probably one of the greatest of all time, but also a total asshole and a nightmare to work with; this incident proves it again. I actually liked Jr (that's his nickname I guess?) and thought he had a decisive contribution to the Megadeth sound; but nobody is safe in a band where the only constant member is someone like Mustaine

Fake news always reaches orders of magnitude more people than the truth.

Dave Mustaine knows that and realizes that if Dave Ellefson stays in the band, Megadeth will always be seen as a band that has a sexual predator in their midst. That's why Dave Ellefson had to go, guilty or not.

How does this change the context of what he posted? He did not have the specifics, and yet was asking if being a born again/former drug addict was "better" than carrying out sexual misconduct (in whatever form).

I'll concede that it appears David didn't really do anything severe (or wrong at all, really), but the message and intent of BE's post remains the same: "Is sexual misconduct really worse than being a born again Christian?" And FYI - I'm not religious, so this isn't about me having a religious axe to grind.

Was girl underage? Did Dave knew it?
If person is over 18 it's legal age. While internet is full whit old man 60 and 18 years old sex. Same time 18 years old boy do whit 50 years milf. My co worker is 63,he has parties whit 22 years old women, so what, adults do what they want to do.

When I was 19 I did slept whit 37 years old woman. So what. Like I said if person in not not miner, it has rights do what ever they like.

The only bad thing Ellefson did was cheating on his wife, which I'm totally against, but it's not that damaging to his image. The way Mustaine said it, it seems he was just waiting for an opportunity to fire him.
