Månegarm - 'Ynglingaättens Öde' Full Length Detailed
Ynglingaättens Öde is the official title of the Månegarm's tenth full length instalment. It has been set for April 15th 2022 release via Nuclear Blast. For a preview of the upcoming outing, the Swedes stream the first single/video "Ulvhjärtat". The video clip was filmed, directed and edited by Svartna Film.
Månegarm on "Ulvhjärtat": "Ulvhjärtat" is about Ingjald Illråde, who was the last king of the Ynglinga dynasty that ruled over Uppsala and Svetjud. As a young boy, Ingjald was weak and frail but during a great feast, the midvinterblot, Ingjald was advised by his foster-father, the blind man Svipdag, to eat a wolf´s heart to gain strength. Ingjald followed the old man’s advice but the outcome was not only that Ingjald became hardened and stronger… he also took on the mind and temper of the wolf.
"Ingjald grew up to be an ambitious king determind to make his kingdom grow, but his mind grew darker and darker. His treacherous mind made him invite nearby kings just to burn them alive and expand his kingdom, his ferocious and ruthless rule contained betrayals and oath breaking and he finally came to be called 'Ingjald the illruler'…"

It's a decent Viking folk song, I'm really liking the melodies to this. It makes a change, as I've not listened to much from this genre in a while, but this album looks promising.

Good artwork, good folk viking black song, good lyrics... In a distant north when wolf howls in mid winter, his air mix whit cold northern air, that'd how Aurora Borealis born. This might be good album, good lyrics, some ppl just play, some are vikings

One of the best songs I've heard from them. I'm really stoked for the album. I just bought a hoodie with the album artwork from napalm records for only 20 dollars! Now that's what I call a good deal. I just hope I don't get beaten up by a vegan for wearing a hoodie with a dead wolf on it lol.
