Yoth Iria - Vocalist Leaves The Band
Greek formation Yoth Iria shared news that vocalist The Magus, real name George Zacharopoulos, has decided to leave the group. He will continue with his own new music project under the moniker The Magus.
The Magus comments: ''Disciples, as you may already know my focus artistically, aesthetically and esoterically for the last year has been the materialization of the album ΒΥΣΣΟΔΟΜΩΝΤΑΣ. Therefore I am letting you know that I officially resign from Yoth Iria.
"Yoth Iria was always the "child" of Jim Mutilator. I was the "uncle" from Hell who aided in the upbringing. Now the "child" is fully grown and follows it’s own path. I feel really contented for what I offered to the Ep and album that we released together and I wish all the best to Jim and the rest of the band on their musical journey. My engagement with the darkness & the sinister will now be channelled exclusively through my occult musical cabal known as THE MAGUS."
Jim Mutilator says: "I know The Magus (for me George) for a lifetime as we met each other for first at the late eighties in exarchia square. It was a great honor for me to work with him again after our Rotting Christ years in the beginning of my new band and his contribution was essential and unique.
"I knew from the beginning that George was really busy and of course his theory and philosophy against live shows but at least I liked to make an album again with him. I think the result was good, of course the history will judge about it. So let's say good luck to a great artist and an eternal friend. Be blessed forever brother U & family! Support The Magus."
