Riot V - To Release 'Mean Streets' Album In February
Atomic Fire Records will release the new Riot V album, Mean Streets, on February 16th, 2024. This 12-piece music effort was recorded & mixed by Bruno Ravel, and mastered by Bart Gabriel. To taste a piece it, check out a lyric video for the first streaming advance track "High Noon".
Bassist Donnie Van Stavern comments on the track: "We are extremely excited to release our 17th Riot record Mean Streets with the mighty Atomic Fire Records label! We went back to the roots a bit on this one with some hard rockers and of course power metal stylings. Our new pre-release lyric video "High Noon" is a song I wrote with Mark Reale in mind, he loved the Old West and wrote songs about it as well ['Restless Breed'/'Gunfighter' etc.) and the music is a reminiscence on ThunderSteel / The Privilege Of Power! Enjoy, metal warriors, more awesomeness is on the way!"

I've always loved Riot's sound and this kind of fast and very melodic heavy metal always gets me in a good mood. The new song doesn't reinvent the wheel but it doesn't need to. It's just 3,5 minutes of fun and that's enough. And you gotta love the album covers they have with the baby seal head (the best and definitely the most bizarre band mascot hands down), this time as a biker charging down the road with his gang of other baby seals (who knew there were more of them  ). I love it and I get the feeling that this is gonna be a fun album

Whoever painted the cover art sure knows the band's audience: there's fire and lighting, there's leather jackets, motorcycles, swords, booze and boobs.... Yeah, buddy, this is going to be one hell of a metal album. Even the first song released sounds just right.

Just going on this track and cover-art alone I could well expect a modern heavy metal classic coming here. I'm getting strong Thundersteel vibes from this track, so really looking forward to headbanging to this release
