Alestorm - Present Upcoming EP's Title Track

In wake of their new EP release Voyage Of The Dead Marauder, due out March 23 on Napalm Records, the Scots Alestorm premiere a music video for the title track.

Produced by Mirko Witzki

Chris Bowes comments:

"Ever since I was a little girl I dreamed of being in one of those female fronted symphonic metal bands where all the identikit-looking guys are blurry and in the background while a lady stands at the front and does some insane vocals. Thanks to Patty Gurdy all my dreams have come true! I hope you like this song, we all think it's nice. PLPLPLPLPL! My favorite part is when the cat turns into a skeleton."

Woah, I didn't expect that song to actually be good. Best track I've heard from them since probably.... Sunset? Been awhile.

I love Alestorm, but they're going way too far with these joke concepts in the band. Have some fun, sure, but it seems everything nowadays is how to make a pirate song and turn it into a "meme."

Female vocals make this song or even band new vibes, otherwise well I say it made the trick now, maybe they should ask that singer to join?

This comment doesn't make much sense in the context of this song, which is one of the most serious and mature sounding they've ever done.

I totally made that comment before listening to the song for sure. This is one of the most serious-sounding Alestorm songs in a long time, but they still dress like they're going to a gay anime convention or something.

I can live with it with Alestorm. The band that has REALLY jumped the shark for me is Dragonforce. Sure, they've always been cheesy, but they actually had a period right after the singer change where they did some semi-serious albums that sounded really mature. Now everything they do is just geared toward gamers and twitch streamers.
