KISS - Confirm New Album

The following story is courtesy of World Entertainment News Network:

Glam rockers KISS have shot down rumors the band is retiring, by confirming they will be recording a new album.

Earlier this year it was reported the group was planning a reality TV show to audition replacement bandmembers, because founders Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons were getting too old to rock.

Frontman Stanley has now admitted that rumors about a new album are true, and they are currently back in the studio working on new tunes - and he's promising a treat for fans of the band's original 1970's sound.

Stanley tells Askmen.com, "It's going to be very much a vintage, classic, 70's KISS album without much regard to what's happened since then; it's back to the roots."

Wow, interesting. It'll be interesting to hear them try and pull off their 70's sound these days.

OMG anyone believing this load of bollocks is totally out of their minds. kiss have always been and will always be full of shit. Judging form their current capabilities on their instruments it is as likely they will make an album in their 70s sound as it is for Metallica to record something as fresh and furious as Kill 'em All.

Ever since "love gun" you just pray that they don't embarrass themselves and their legacy.....but they always do. gene simmons mouth has hurt them so bad that it makes it difficult to listen to even their oldest stuff without thinking what a bunch of frauds they are.

ted nugent mouth doesn't even do that for me and i can't stand that guy. i can still appreciate "stranglehold" and get past his personality, but i can't with gene and kiss.

Yeah true. Gene, well is just Gene. No-one come near him mouthwise, not even Motor City Madman Nugent or Motormouth Lars Ulrich.

But their 70s stuff (before Dynasty that is of course) is just gold. Damn I think I'll go back to my Kissology boxes and look at and listen to how much they have deteriorated after Love Gun... and then put on The LEder which is an immensely underrated album imo. Musically it is by far their best.

How does "going back to the roots" always seem to justify itself? how about trying to make something new and unique?

Stanley's getting too old to rock? You guys heard his Live To Win album from 2006? Great thing!

Meow. Next they will announce they are touring with their original fail paint. sigh. And the fact they are trying to sound like their old material is a double fail.

They'll never recover the 70's sound. It just won't happen. I get sick of bands claiming to return to "the old days" as it never seems to happen. But don't get me wrong, I will listen to the new CD, and I'll propably enjoy it. I just won't expect another Destroyer

To Marcel - I agree, the Elder was underrated

now that i think of it...."creatures of the night", "lick it up" and "revenge" had some good material.....but it really only solidifies my point.....all the good material on those albums was written by vinnie vincent. he didn't even play on "revenge", but was brought in to write for gene and paul since they could do nothing since 1977. anyone remember that on the album before that they had michael bolton write the sappy ballad "forever". true frauds....and i almost feel ashamed for probably being the first person to mention michael bolton on this website. your welcome.

And, yes, you'd better feel ashamed for that but then again there's gotta be a first time for everything, right? even for mentioning Michael Bolton...

well then it's time to mention Mr Bolton for the second time in this thread - did you know Bolton was in a melodic hard rock band called Blackjack (1979/80) together with Bruce Kulick who would be a Kiss guitarist a bit later. - ain't it a small world...

God I wish they would retire. I don't understand why so many people hold that stupid rock n roll sentimentality toward this band when they are the definition of sell-out, corporate shills. I don't see why some people can say certain bands were only in it for the money, then regard Kiss as "classic", really hypocritical.

I probably won't be buying this mostly because I don't like giving Gene Simmons money, it bugs me to no end.

i know how you feel. i think gene simmons is the one solely responsible for the recession that america is in. mainly because of his multiple reality tv shows and mtv cribs appearances. bastard.

agreed. on top of not giving Gene Simmons money, i probably wont get this album due in part to their last bunch of albums being godfuckingawful.
