30.06.2006 - 15:37 BOOYAH! Anyone else looking forward to this as much as I am? There's a small preview up on the site which basically shows only the fact that the Transformers are coming from/on Mars. It doesn't reveal whether they're actually from the Red Planet or not. That remains to be seen. From what I've seen, read and heard, this movie is going to stray very far from the cartoons/comics. I'm not worried in the slightest, though. I'm looking forward to it very, very much. I've even made the poster into my background. I know, I sound like a useless fanboy, but I can't help myself. Full sized picture of the poster can be found here.

Michael Bay directing. Wich means a lot of fans are going to hate it. It also means a lot of action hollywood style. Ho well. I'll turn my brain off and watch it anyway.

Probably won t be a kick-ass classic movie but nonetheless it will surely be a very enjoyable movie to watch.

Live action Transformers movie sounds iffy enough as it is, Michael Bay directing it means it's going to be complete utter crap. If you look at his track record of films (Armageddon, Pearl Harbor, The Island) which are all pretty darn bad, this is just going to be a complete dissapointment for any fans of Transformers fans who think this has any chance of being good. And besides, how the hell can you make a live action Transformers movie anyways? I hope everything I say is proven wrong. I want this to be good, but I know that it won't.

I was wondering why people kept shitting on Michael Bay. Personally, I don't mind Pearl Harbor and Armageddon(never seen The Island). I know, it's going to be nowhere near what fans actually want to see, but I'm still going to enjoy it. Even if I have to force myself to.

I can't wait for this movie. My co-worker showed me a bunch of stuff on youtube.com today of how this movie is going to look, and it looks fucking good.

Michael Bay is good if you like hollywood action... It's not complete crap, it's just a no brainer director. Turn your brain off and watch the Bangbangpowpow

See, the main problem with Michael Bay is that he turns quality actors/actresses into complete crap. Case in point, The Island. Scarlett Johansson is an excellent actress, and she was horrible in The Island, and you have Bay's directing to blame. I think the problem for me is that when I watch a movie, I want to be immersed into the world that it is trying to provide for me, and I just can't do that with craptacular Bay movies. Like I said before, I really hope I'm proven wrong about Transformers, but with Bernie Mac on board (who is funny, but a shitty actor) I'm quite pessimistic about this movie.

the movie is exactly a year away and 3 days, and you guys are aready hyped up about it? whow i dont know, as a kid, i was never really a fan of robots. the only reason why i used to watch transformers and power rangers was so that the 'bad robots' can beat up the good guys. but it never happend.

Michael Bay is a terrible director and I'm not too happy that Megatron is supposed to be a tank. But I'll give the movie the benefit of the doubt.

Megatron was a tank for G2, though. I remember 'cause I had the toy. Huge fucking green and purple thing.

That sucks, Megatron is supposed to be a fucking gun He was always the most politically incorrect toy ever made, why change that?? I mean, he's supposed to be evil, right?

Well, judging by everyone's opinion of Michael Bay, I suppose he doesn't consider it exciting enough to sell. That, or possibly too "unrealistic"(though, that one seems kind of odd when we take into account what the fuck we're talking about...) for Megatron to still turn into the gun.

Man I used to love transformers, I hope they put in Soundwave with his cassette minion. Not expecting much from the live action movie at all, I just got a feeling it won't work at all.

I doubt they'll have Soundwave since cassette players are pretty much dead by now... Maybe he'll be an iPod or something?? LOL

Well, the rumour is Soundwave will be in the movie, but he'll now be called "Soundbyte".

I read a while ago that Bay wants to focus on the human characters rather than the robots. I don't know how much truth there is to that statement but I know how little good there is to it.

Peter Cullen(original voice of Optimus Prime) has signed on for Prime's role in the movie, and I'm fairly sure that Frank Welker(Megatron) will be coming back as well.

I'm fuckin psyched, i dunno about you, but im interested to see how they pull this off. and for all you dissapointed in Michael Bay, just be glad shitty directers like Andrzej Bartkowiak, Uwe Boll, or Paul W.S. Anderson didn't get thier hands on it. They're the worst concept directors i've ever seen, they're responsible for ruining promising movie concepts like Doom, Bloodrayne, House of the Dead, Alien Vs. Predator, Mortal Kombat, Resident Evil and much much more.

Industrial Light & Magic(who I believe are doing the special effects for it) have done a fantastic job on the transformation sequences and animation, from what little I can see.

Absolutely PUMPED for this movie! Loved the Transformers cartoons as a kid ... frankly i still do like watching it I checked the really short teaser that the site had up few months ago, and damn it was short and didnt give much away. Except for the whole Mars thing which I found a little weird. Anyway I'll be sure to check out the above link to the trail tomorrow, bit late and will take a while to load (3:17am here lol). Just reading all the posts here, doesnt seem to be much faith in Bay and how hes going to pull this off. Unfortunatly, I think this might be a big downer but im just wonderingwhat the story line is going to be like. Whether its going to open up for more movies to be made after wards. Man i really want to see that trail now!! But i must wait

Well, I saw the trailer last week on a theater last week and being a Transformers fan for years, I got pretty excited. I even screamed like a kid: "Holy shit that's Optimus". Being a fan of the series for years, I'm deffinitely willing for this.
