This thread might be locked soon...who knows..you need a lot more content in your intro post...you stated your opinion and that's perfect but really though, edit that or it might be locked... My favorite album from Vanden Plas was Far Off Grace...I haven't really listened to much Vanden Plas because I can't get a hold of it...even trying to download it is a pain in the ass because many torrent users don't support Vanden Plas for some reason...I mananged to get Christ.O...wow man, what an album! such consistency...it's very solid and keeps up the progression from beginning to end and that version of Gesthemane at the end it so amazing...I love what they did to it!

I've only heard one song: 'I Don't Miss You' and it's pretty to listen to. I plan on hearing more stuff because I've heard so much about them. And it seems that the general consensus is that Christ O is awesome.

They've covered Gesthemane? From JCS? Have to hear it! Haven't heard a lot of songs but I saw them live in June, it truly was a great performance!

Well, I thought, you could help me with ideas, and you just did. No need to close the thread IMO, while people are interested in it. I'ma newcomer to the band but that doesn't mean I'm not allowed to open a topic for them..

Only 5 comments for this awesome band? I must say I'm shocked. Vanden Plas have become one of my favorite bands within the last few years. Christ 0 could quite possibly be the greatest album of '06.Beyond Daylight was a very good album as well. The God Thing and Far off Grace were also good. So far though I think Christ 0 is their best work. My favorite song by them is Soul Survives on the Colour Temple Album.

I hd hear tape ''Colour temple'' it was some yers ago, my freind owns it, he has a lot of doom and prog and some other tape colection, and he are some 10 years older, so it was my 3th Prog. band after Dream Theatre and Psychotic Waltz, I like this tape, its gret and old school remaind me times what I never will see

I only have one album "Christ.0". It's a great album though. I haven't heard anything else off any other albums of theirs, but Christ.0 caught my attention from the first time I heard it. Was one of my personal favourites of 2006. I'd definitely like to check out more of Vanden Plas, if anyone has any other album recommendations?

Save myself some money if I don't end up liking it. Is "Beyond Daylight" much different to "Christ.0" musically?

Account deleted Written by Eternal Flames on 22.06.2007 at 15:40 Well "Christ. 0" is much darker than "Beyond Daylight" but other than that it's not much different musically at all. Some key tracks on "Beyond Daylight" are Cold Wind, Healing Tree, End of All Days, the epic Beyond Daylight, and my favorite Vanden Plas song (even beating Soul Survives!) Scarlet Flower Fields. Those are just the main main tracks. The album is amazing, and if you like "Christ. 0" you will definitely like this.

I agree with MaidenVarius. But try Colour Temple, too. It's a little heavier, but has its calm and beautiul moments as well (a little less then Daylight, which is still my favourite) Absolutely top band!!

Well...the new Threshold and Vanden Plas albums are certainly more progressive than the new Pagan's Mind album but as far as progressive power metal albums the three albums should be an important part of someone's recent prog power album collection...

vanden plas is one of the best german bands of progressive rock ever, ther harmonics, musical depth, isntrumentations, vocals, and creativity has inspired me to the very corners of my mind, gives color to the anbiences crude and lacking of darkness and light at the same time, Best albums ever, my personal favorite Beyond day light, every single other production is an gift to the musical ear, colour temple, Accult, wich is a grat change of pase based on acoustic versions of several other albums, christ 0 can let us see how mature and sophisticated this band becomes with every year and how evolved is human being when it takes the real journey of study and creativity, the god thing, delectible , far of grace, what else is there to be said, abydos new solo musical project from andy Kuntz is no less then a wonder, Thank you all of the members of the band for giving this to the audience.

I only have Christ 0 and I recently got Beyond Daylight but I still haven't much time to listen to it. Or maybe because I know I'm not going to hear something so beautiful and creative like "January Sun" or "Silently".. these 2 songs are one of the best songs I've heard in progressive metal..and I know a LOT of progressive bands. These guys have a great talent. I know they have a very busy life, specially Kuntz, but I hope someday to listen something so creative (or even better, who knows) as Chist 0.

Just been listening to The Seraphic Clockwork and I couldn't actually finish it because I was so freaking bored. The album sounded like a total Kamelot rip-off. Judging by the first listen is not a good idea, I know, but with this album I have lost all the patience. The thread has not been active for 2.5 years! Holy crap!

They don't need to rip-off another band...they have their own original sound and so does Kamelot...have those two bands ever toured together? Damn, that would be a kickass tour...

Vanden Plas has nothing to do with Kamelot, musically, and have been following their own musical path for a long time. Yes, Seraphic Clockwork is not that exciting. Sadly I say this, since they really are a great band and Christ.0 was a brilliant album, one of my top for the last decade actually. Seraphic Clockwork has been growing on me (very, very, very slowly) and I have really come to love the songs "Scar of An Angel" and "Eleyson." These songs are beautiful but they're nearly lost in the mist of a foggy album; too much mid tempo, too much "typical Vanden Plas" without taking us on any new journeys, really.
