Finland is one of the best metal countries they have so many great metal bands and they have great styles like COB,ETOS,norther and kalmah and the folk, like Korpiklaani,Moonsorrow,Finntroll,Winrtersun etc. but give me your point of view what band do you think is better and why

for me it is Stratovarius its one of my favorite bands, i love everything on it , the vocals (Kotipelto is the best damn singer ever) , the guitars are just perfect, the keyboards too , bass and drums are outstanding, yes i know that most of the songs of Stratovarius have the same structure but i still love those guys;D

I'm the first to voteee! yeaaahhh I went for Nightwish cuz is my favourite finnish band with Sonata Arctica and Sinergy, I think it's very original their power metal style... is more different than the european one. It was a hard choice cuz I had to decide between Sonata and Nightwish, but definetly I went for Nigthwish, who IMO is more original than Sonata

Out of that list I voted Sentenced nobody can beat it's despair metal
also I would've vote other meaning Tarot,Finntroll,Shape Of Despair and so forth

This is hard tread, becaus eyou know how manny bnands are there, so if you made other well exept that I like about 100 finish bands, just now Insomanium, and Embreazed so I vote for other because I dunno in my self what band i like, and WHERE are Tarot in list, also some good doom, black and filk metal bands, better this tread be best finnish doom metal band, or best finnish power metal band

From list al are good exept firts 3 bands, I dont listening them so much(first 3= but last 5 are great, better ETOS

It's a very hard decision, I voted for Nightwish, because of the music, the lyrics, the style they have, the vocals of course, everything!
But I also love Sonata Arctica, they have an excellent music, I like very much the lyrics and the vocals
Both bands are just great

I voted for Sonata Arctica, but it was really hard decision. Not only becuase all those bands are great, but also because you can´t compare Eternal Tears with Nightwish because they´re so different in genres and in style. So, it was a hard vote becuase of that and because all of those are great bands.

From the list there, Sonata Arctica for sure. The only band up there that I don't grow tired of.

I would probably vote for Kalmah or Finntroll here. There are some other folkish bands that are quite enjoyable, but I think these two bands are leaders of the pack right now.

I can accept that Sonata Arctica, Nightwish, and Children of Bodom are more popular but I think that there's better stuff underneath all that.

From the list I'm stuck between Bodom and Moonsorrow, but my fav finnish band is Clandestine Blaze.

hehehe yes I like power metal... I prefer thousands of times the US school to the European although... but I really like Sonata Arctica and they were one of the first Metal bands I liked back in the years so I guess that counts...

Way too many great bands from Finland! Damn.. there are probably more great bands from Finland than the rest of the world combined (with the exception of Sweden).

It was '96 when I first heared Black Winter Day I thought it was soo raw so I listen to it 5 times in a row
I had to wait for about 3 months to get the Tales from the thoused lakes CD since it was so hard to get in this part of the world especially at that time...But It was worth the wait

Over the years Amorphis showed us diffrent perceptions of the band's artistic and dynamic sounds.

Each record these guys came up with has a flavor of its own which shows you that these guys can produce grade A music for years to come

For any of you who have doubts about what I say... I would like you to listen to the band latest release Eclipse and you will see that the only way these guys are going is up

The Best thing about Amorphis is that no matter what kind of metal you listen too if you look into their discography I bet you will find an Amorphis song just for you

I voted Sonata Arctica. But it was a hard choice between Sonata and COB. Both are great, but I don't like very COB song. While I like every Sonata Arctica song. Simple, huh?

From the list my vote goes to Moonsorrow, they're an awesome band, but sincerely I voted other just because of bands like Finntroll, they're great, the best folk metal, this poll is a little bit unfair here are the most popular bands not the best ones, bands like Finntroll, Catamenia, Ensiferum, Barathrum, etc. are missing here...

Well my friend, I have to tell you that yes, The sins of thy beloved are fantastic, full of sorrow, but they are from Bryne, Norway, no Finland...

Finntroll and since they arent on the list i voted Moonsorrow. Epic Folk Metal at its best !!

I don´t like any of these bands. Best Finnish band is Mokoma. Also good bands are Sotajumala , Timo Rautiainen , Reverend Bizarre and also Stam1na has some good songs.

I think it's (or it was ) Sentenced. Beautiful and original sound/music, before it was kinda death or something-like-that metal but the latest recordings are more pop-metal with finnish melancholy. I recommend to all. My favourite album is Down.

I'd vote 'Moonsorrow' since they are the best from this list, but COB made this most awesmoe funny cover for breatney spears song .. that cracked me up .

I love only early Amorphis furst 2 albums are best from them, well doom metal for eternity, its what can I say about early Amorphis.

everyone always goes on about how Finland is such a good country for metal and all - but for some reason i dont get along with many Finnish bands very well.. i mean i just dont click with them like i can German or English bands

my favorite Finnish band is defibatly Ensiferum though. they are one of the few that i really do like, so it is an easy choice for me
i just cant wait to hear some more Ensiferum stuff
