i'm not sure if this will be deleted, or not, but i just came across a few links talking about the child actress, Dakota Fanning, who you know from i am sam, trapped, sweet home alabama, cat in the hat, man on fire, lilo and stich, war of the worlds,dreamer, and a few other movies..so shes huge! yet, shes only 12. and i ebleive she had afew nominations, or maybe she won an award or soemthing...

aright, apperently, she is to star in some movie comming out this year that has some scenes of her getting brutally raped, and also some scenes where she is nude, and they show everything, or atleast everything. shes supposedly to be in an underwear. if thats not fucked up enough, her parents are giving her the thumbs up to do so.

is that a bad thing? yes it is. why? well other than for obvious reasons, it would a) tempt paedophiles, b) tempt child pornography.

The world is indeed a fucked up place. A lot of parents are very overbearing with their children and wouldn't let them go out of their own house for fear of something bad happening to them while other parents couldn't care less and want them to find out about certain things on their own. I think that Dakota Fanning probably has very liberal parentage who are letting her experience the world with a lot of freedom. She will either grow up a very confident, free thinking happy individual who is ready and willing to conquer the world or she will turn into a paranoid physopath who is mentally attacked by the brutal realities that the world has taught her if anything scandalous or dangerous happens to her while in the limelight, having all the freedom in the world to get out there and acheive her own destiny while not being bogged down by parental control.

I've personally never heard of Dakota Fanning. I'm just making an educated prognosis. I would definetly think it's not a bad thing. The further you travel in time, the younger the human race is going to be exploiting itself for entertainment values. Alright then, so it's 2006 and the age is down to twelve. I'm a very liberal person but I don't beleive that this is 100% right. There are moral and ethical values to look at here but the times are changing. I suppose it matters how you look at her while she's on the screen. If you're looking at her body for pure sexual stimulation, then yes, the pedophilic mindset of an individual will come out moreso in the moviegoing public. It really depends on how they coreograph the scene where she's showing more skin then she should be.

This topic should be in serious discussions because it brings up really good arguments...to contradict, the fact that hollywood would be pushing the legal age of showing young women naked in movies and how Hollywood thinks that it can do whatever it wants just because it entertains us and that if it pushes the rules that they'll get changed...it's control over society in a forceful nature...

EDIT: I checked on this 'apparent' movie...apparently, all that she is doing this year is Charlotte's Web...next year she is doing Caroline which is animated...it doesn't look like she's doing anything where she appears nude...therefore, if it's not in her filmography, they either found another child actor or the movie simply wasn't given the green light by the film company for obvious reasons...

Is this movie 'Hounddog'? I couldn't find a trailer, but I think it is. I agree that they go to far, way to far. And not just because showing her naked, but that rape scene is another: shure, she knows it's fake, but I really think that scene will affect her. And they go to far with all these child actors. I mean they have more movies then adult actors, how can they support it? It is a very hard job, a 24/7 one. Macaulay Culkin is the perfect example: he was as hot as can a child actor be, but they really messed up his personal life. And this is the parents' fault, as they're using their child for money.

I don't think you get it that this is acting, and they usually use a body double for this shit.
Like in Once Upon a Time in America we see a 15 year old or so girl get naked from behind, but it's not her.
Hollywood are pussies anyway, they're never ones to start controversy, only to surpress it, and I doubt that Fanning would star in anything but those. Not like she's old enough to even know about artistic value or anything.
And only idiots are shocked by movies they haven't even seen yet, it'll probably be like a 3 second flash of some person obviously not her or something.
First of all, it won't affect her, becuase movie making is full of a lot of camerca tricks, they can film a horror movie without even letting a kid know that he is even in one. THe Shinning (1980) is a perfect example of this. Just pay close attention.

EDIT: What I think that hollywood is going too far in is remaking Battle of Algiers into a summer blockbuster or something.

It's like in that movie in which the main character played by Nicole Kidman believes that his dead husband reincarnateed in a boy, and there are a couple scenes where they are nude in the bathroom and stuff. It's just a movie, paedophiles don't need a movie to get inspired.

I think some people here are missing the point slightly. Does a 12 year old even know what rape is? I don't think I did. And then if they do know what rape is, acting it out is something completely different altogether. Unless a kid is very mentally and emotionally mature for thier age, that is going to fuck them up.

Yeah she is going to be so fucked up... all that money and people to take care of her, how will she survive?
I agree that there are far worse things going on in movies. I would rather watch The 120 Days of Sodom 100 times than sit through Meet The Spartans once.

100% agree, fiction is fiction.

Personally, I think heavy themes like child rape and child prostitution need to be brought to peoples attention, whether it be movies, or books or whatever. People get offended to easily to realise the real messages of these movies.
