Before me is the new album of a band that needs no introduction, ladies and gentlemen, Cannibal Corpse. Is the nine round for this Americans, and with this album they prove that they're more active than ever.

Since their conception 15 years ago, Cannibal Corpse has been a polemical band, once banned in Australia, New Zealand and Korea, still banned from performing any material off their first three albums in Germany the Cannibals manage to sell millions of albums each year, as a matter of fact they were declared the top selling Death Metal band of the SoundScan era, and were the only Death Metal band to rank on the Billboard Top 200 album.

Cannibal corpse have never created an album without good songs. this one has 4. severed head stoning, frantic disem..., festering in the crypts and blunt force castration.. that's all.. nothing more. most of the other songs have some nice parts or nothing.. decent album..

Well it depends what you look for in songs. Those wouldn't be my top four songs of the album.

My only problem with this album (in fact with EVERY CC album bar 'Gore Obsessed' and 'KILL' ) is the fillers which bring it down. 'Bent Backwards And Broken', and 'Blunt Force Castration' (Shame that a song with such 'great' lyrics had to suck musically! ) both sound just technical for the sake of it, and are not memorable in the slightest. 'Psychotic Precision' suffers a bit from this too, but is a better song than the other 2. The rest of the album is either good, or great. I do miss the simpler, catchier style of Jack Owen. His style gave CC albums balance, and gave the band more variety.

Aside from a small amount of fillers, I really like this album. There's definitely a few classic CC songs on it!

I can't understand why people think this is one of their better albums featuring corpsegrinder. It was really long, and way too slow. Even the fast songs were pretty inconsistent and random. They Deserve To Die fucking kills though.

I own the version of the album that has the DVD!

I remember Jack playing some country song about "my pocket" or something like that, it was surprising and funny.

Alright album, I kind of expected more when I bought it from Best Buy. There was supposed to be a dvd included and there was none, so I wasted some money. Still some decent songs but most of them are random and some what boring, but really CC is still one of the best Death Metal bands out there today!

Consistent if not altogether flawless album, but essentially this is CC doing what they do best. A few songs are notably weaker than others in my opinion, particularly 'Cyanide assassin' and 'Blunt force castration', but they are eclipsed by an all-round solid instrumentation and basically brutal sounds. This album is overshadowed by the next album, "Kill" in my opinion, but in terms of music not by much at all.

A slight improvement on their previous album, with the riffs having a wee bit more groove to them, the tempo had also increased dramatically, with much more frantic drumming, and more technical soloing, even the vocals had gotten faster with extra brutality.

The sound had improved with the production being a whole lot better imo, but the overall songwriting and songstructures hadn't gotten much better though, it was still fairly generic death metal imo, only better than their previous release. Again this lacked consistency, with only a few standout tracks, for me being the title track, and "Festering in the Crypt", the rest being pretty run of the mill tbh.
