Fear of God? That average thrash band with lame female vocals? You really are Marcel's clone

Fuck off, that album is a 90's gem. Some people just don't get the vocals. The music is also pretty damn original I'd say.

MAYHEM!

Rob Zombie - Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor
Children of Bodom - Halo Of Blood
Born of Osiris - The Discovery
The Ocean - Peligial

And speaking of Distro, they had a booth with stuff as low as two bucks. How could I resist?
Brutal Truth - Extreme Conditions Demand Extreme Responses (Nice reissue with a bunch of bonus stuff)
Morbid Angel - Blessed Are The Sick
Cathedral - The Carnival Bizarre (Earache Classic edition, comes with Our God Has Landed)
Carcass - Wake Up And Smell The... Carcass

And I got a sweet Toxic Holocaust shirt and caught a pick thrown by Robb Flynn.
It was a good year.

The Return... Of Svensk Dödsmetall

If there's some interesting stuff about Katatonia, then I'd like to know.

The same bit that was in Encyclopedia Of Svensk Dödsmetall is in there plus a five pasge interview wuth Anders Nyström on the eraly days of the band.

Btw even though the boks are called encyclopedias they both cosnist mostly of interviews with the bands about their early days. Both books are written by an Italian guy called Nicola Constantini. He was a huge tape trader during the early days of the Swedish death metal boom and well-known within the tape trading circles of those days. The books aren't like the Swedish Death Metalk one by Daniel Ekeroth, but are more st up like the fanzines of the time, so with interviews and such and lots of drawing and pictures. Both Nicola's books I wouldn't recommend to people who are only a bit familiar with the early days of Swedish death metal, for them the Ekeroth book is much more useful. Both encyclopedias are of much more interest to die hard fans of the genre.

That comprehensive Nyström interview about the early days of Katatonia sounds cool. Those times are a bit shady to me. Answers to questions like how they started and when the black stuff came in, and did they play just plain death metal at some point, I yearn.

The black stuff was there from the start and at no point were they plain death metal

Btw all the interviews with all the other bands are all about the early days of the bands and Swedish death metal

I payed 15 euros for Live Cannibalism (Cannibal Corpse). Although I walked out of the store with a feeling that I wasted my money, it proved to be a pretty good live album. On the back and on the booklet it says no overdubs were used. Also, the booklet contains photos of the band and I think it's quite good too.

I found Starofash's latest album "Lakhesis" in a record store and decided to go for it. It's a project of Ihsahn's wife, Heidi.
I'm really loving this album, it's pretty avant-garde/alternative and kinda gothic rock, not really metal.

Btw, It features Leprous's singer in two songs of the album, turns out they are siblings!

Finally a list that can compete with Marcel's.

Sleep - Jerusalem (FIRST MUTHAFUCKIN PRESS) $2
Sleep - Volume One (also first) $2
Isis - Wavering Radiant $2
Isis - Oceanic $2
Isis - Panopticon $2
Danzig - Danzig $1.50
Bongzilla - Americajauna $2
White Zombie - Super Sexy Swingin' Sounds $1.50
The Mars Volta - Amputechture $1.50
Winter Of Apokalypse - Solitary Winter Night $7

I was at a busking festival this weekend, and on Saturday they had a little market for people who knit sweaters and make jewellery. One of the tables had a few (20ish)cds lying there. I just glanced over because I always do, and of course the first thing I see is that Sleep disc. I damn near freaked. I asked her how much she wanted for it and she said "I don't know... $2?". At that moment I died. The other $1.50 cds were from a bin that another guy had. And the Winter cd was from a local shop. Great haul.

It was a nostalgia buy to be honest. I was quite a fan of those albums when I was a kid. Plus, it was hella cheap so why not. If we are only talking about their symphonic period yeah, there are better albums. I enjoy Lepaca Kliffoth, Vovin and Deggial to this day though.

Not here to ruin your fun, but I don't get what's the thing with that No Morrow Shall Dawn. It's very boring and mediocre.

Eh.

I can't be surprised since we hardly agree most of the time. I recall that Ofermod 2012 album being a particularly smelly pile of shit too.
