Well if we compare 1trh and this this is better, but still somehow week, its classic album, good, but , better prodution, strudio, all stuff what is in backstage, probonly lable, but still its not so powerfull to make band cult. I like werry much song LIFE OF CRIME , others os OK to but something still missing , soon gonna judge next album, but one think is shore Manowar never will reach such level, so .... I wonder what manowar say about this band

This is where Virgin Steele got good. A pure fun album with some awesome guitar work by Jack Starr. The songs are all memorable and the production has that raw early 80's vibe to it. Love it. Would probably give it a 8 but with the excellent bonus tracks that usually comes with it I have to give it a 9, it's that good!

Best song on GotF, I agree, but I wouldn't say it's one of my VS favourites. Too must repetition with the chorus, same with the first track.

Better than the first album, that's pretty safe to say, especially improvement in songwriting is easily noticeable. On the other hand, I think, the band has become here a generic heavy metal band with keys added to it, and on some songs AOR elements like the repeating chorus 1000 times, features which are not necessary bad things by itself if utilized properly. Hence the songs are kind of dependent on does the riffs work or not, since Defeis' keys are pretty much lackluster on this album, like they were on the debut. THE CLASSIC VS SOUND IS CLEARLY NOT ACHIEVED HERE YET . I would say the result is average; no super killer songs, no pure fillers either. So I would say this is pretty harmless album, it doesn't kill, and it doesn't stick because the songs aren't that impressive. Well, I can still listen to it once in a few years and it sounds alright.

Again, luckily, tomorrow is (was) another day for Virgin Steele
