Memorable riffs in a modern thrash album!? How is that possible?

Trials did a pretty good job last year. And the year before, we had Sodom and Flotsam & Jetsam =P

I haven't heard any of those, and considering how few recent releases manage to grab my attention I'll check those out. Have you heard the latest Overkill? Very memorable one I found.

yep, I have... but I still don't think it's as memorable as it could be. However, it is probably my favourite thrash release released this year, among the ones I've listened to anyway (Angelus Apatrida, Aura Noir, Exumer, Overkill, Testament, After All, Cripper, Dew-Scented, Savage Messiah, Tankard, Deathhammer, Kreator, Shadows Fall, Lamb Of God, Municipal Waste).

Hoping the following will give me a nice surprise when I get round to listening to them: Lich King, Sylosis, Ketzer, Warrick, Hexen, Incapacitate

And yes, you're right... Recent thrash is rather meh once it wears off. I only really enjoy those three in terms of recent releases (=

Death To Posers
Hate Thy King
Vocalist vaguely reminds me of Axl Rose on Chinese Democracy.. Not a bad thing though

The word gen means "illusion" or "apparition." In India, a man who uses conjury is called a genjutsushi ["a master of illusion technique"]. Everything in this world is but a marionette show. Thus we use the word gen.

This is great stuff. "Fatal Infection", "Hail To The Thief" and "At War With Thy Neighbour", are particularly memorable.

This is a good album, but Wormdrink's gotta explain to me how he Staff picked this one, and gave a 6 in a review on Hexen's Being And Nothingness ? Are you on crack pal ?
Because Being And Nothingness, destroys this one....

Definitely better than majority of modern thrash albums. Songs such as "Fatal Infection" and "Nationwide Ruination" kick all kinds of asses
