Slough Feg's take on heavy metal never sounds out of time or place. Their sound is something which borrows from tradition but they always remain relevant and continually inventive, and after a four year silence I'm pleased to say that this is still very much the case with their ninth set of cleverly constructed tunes, boldly entitled Digital Resistance.

Indeed!

Their tunes are borderline folk metal at times. It's annoying I can't hear the pitchfork stream for this new one, it doesn't seem to be working for me.

Nothing to add, I think the same about it.
Though I don't love the album, I find it quite enjoyable.

Strong album, could say my current favorite by SF. "Digital Resistance", "Ghastly Appendage", "Laser Enforcer", "The Price Is Nice" and "The Luddite", great songs everywhere.

I think this is their best album, don't understand the low rating. So catchy! Don't really understand why people don't like the Animal Spirits either, which for me is their second best. SF are really like whiskey, growing better with age.

Wait, why are Slough Feg and The Lord Weird Slough Feg's profiles separated? That's fucking annoying.

Don't get the low rating on this at all, very solid all the way through. "Ghastly Appendage" in particular is an amazing song

How is 7.1 a low score? That means it's a good album.

I get why people hate this album and consider it the worst. The guitar tone is very light it almost makes the album getting inducted into the Soft Metal category. But I think it is one of my faves. Considering Metal Blade released this, the guys seemed to have a lot of freedom to do their stuff. The opening is jolly and nicely crafted, I like the usage of piano in the 2nd song. Warrior's Dusk is a great continuation of Warrior's Dawn from DATDM. The other good ones are the title track, Laser Enforcer, Ghastly Appendage! Habeas Corpsus is very good atmospheric desert rock!
