Just wondering what everyone's favorite album by Cannibal Corpse is. Mine would have to be the Bleeding. I find the earlier albums tend to run together in sound, such that I could swear that I just heard that song on one track prior. The later albums are improved in technicality, but have an occasional tendency to be a bit boring. But, the Bleeding makes for an enjoyable listen, where every song has its own identity, but doesn't get boring. Chris Barnes does an excellent vocal performance, and the instrumentals seem to work together perfectly. For at least one point in time, every song on the album was a standout track, although I've grown to hate 'the Exorcist', which is the bonus track on the re-release. The only complaint I have about this album is that it gets old a bit quicker than, say, Tomb of the Mutilated. I can only choose nine options for the poll, and for that reason, I omitted each of the live albums and EPs. Gore Obsessed and Gallery of Suicide were also left off, as they are both relatively mediocre albums, and seem to be one of the consensus worst albums by the group. But, I put in an 'other' option, in case someone disagrees with that assessment. Thoughts???

Ok...I'll post again I voted for The Bleeding. It features matured songwriting capabilities, while still maintaining their brutal sound. They also created more melodies on this album, which helps it from sounding monotonous. I think this has Barnes' best vocal performance, mostly due to his badass high shrieks, which he apparentely can't do anymore. This album has one of my favorite Cannibal Corpse songs, Stripped, Raped, and Strangled. I love the part where Chris belts out "I come alive in the darkness". It makes that song that much more powerful.

I'm all about the Wretched Spawn, the album that started my preference of Corpsegrinder over Barnes. They Deserve to Die carries one of the manliest screams of fortitude I've ever heard in my life.

I am surprised my vote of 'Tomb Of The Mutilated' as not been joined by anyone elses.. for me that is probably the most complete album they have released.. every song on the album fits and is really great as well.. 'The Bleeding' is a good album - but it is just lacking something in my mind - I dont know what 'Eaten Back To Life' and 'Gore Obsessed' are also favorites of mine

I dont actually like any albums really after "The Bleeding",not only cuz I am a fan of the old school, but Corpsegrinder doesn't do anything for me,excluding when he was with good ol' Monstrosity.Though all of their albums get repetitive after awhile,I still frequently listen to "Eaten Back To life",lots of classics,"Skull Full Of Maggots","Edible Autopsy","Put Them To Death" and "Shredded Humans".As for "The Bleeding" it to has some perfectly constructed riffs on songs like "Fucked With A Knife" and "Pick Axe Murderers".

I have to confess that I am surprised at how distributed the poll results are. I thought that everyone would either pick Tomb of the Mutilated or the Bleeding, but every choice but Butchered at Birth has at least one vote, while someone on this thread said that their favorite album is Butchered at Birth. I guess that says something about this band.

My favorite isn't in the list but well, it's "Gore Obsessed", it has very good guitar technique and drumming. And the cover of "No Remorse" gives it extra points

(sorry cant vote)

Butchered At Birth hands down!! That album I would consider a Death Metal classic. The quality is raw, underground and heavy for its time back in 1991.... Vomit The Soul is Cannibal Corpse's best song to date. Even if it didnt have Glen Benton as backing vocalist on it, it would still be brilliant

i've listened whole Cannibal Corpse's discography. i'm not interested in George Fisher's era... so i voted for Butchered at Birth which is the most brutal album ever in my opinion. also those days Cannibal Corpse was a real super band included legendry lineup. Owen, Barnes, Webster, Benton (Deicide) as guest vocal and so on ...

Eaten back to life is the best album for me... completly original, full of very good songs like Edible Autopsy, Mangled and A Skull full of maggots. Its less brutal than the posterior albuns, but EBTL has the exactly death metal that i like to listen.

I like almost every album released by Cannibal Corpse, but I must say that "Bloodthirst" is my favorite album. I don't know why exactly, but I love the production of that album.

04.06.2009 - 19:08 Written by Deadmeat on 03.06.2009 at 16:36 I didn't put in Gallery of Suicide and Gore Obsessed because the poll doesn't allow more than 9 options. Since every album has been voted for at least twice, I can't substitute either, so I guess if Evisceration Plague is your favorite, then mark other.

Bored at work again Cannibal Corpse albums, ranked 1. The Bleeding Chris Barnes gave his best vocal performance of his career and the melodic guitars give Cannibal Corpse a more diverse and interesting touch 2. Kill Their most energetic album... I just love Purification by Fire 3. Bloodthirst I have no idea how Cannibal Corpse pulled out such a great album out of their ass in such a weird time 4. Butchered at Birth Simple, but the powerful hooks remind me of Malevolent Creation... I love Living Dissection 5. Tomb of the Mutilated Overrated, good, but not very memorable for me 6. Eaten Back to Life Incnosistent 7. Gore Obsessed Just mediocre overall 8. Evisceration Plague Great production, boring songwriting 9. Vile I love Devoured by Vermin, but this shit gets old fast 10. Gallery of Suicide Too long for it's own good 11. The Wretched Spawn Too slow, but it still has some awesome moments @Joose

I looked at your RYM page about a month or two ago and noticed that some albums that you said you didn't like were rated highly on the site and vice versa, so it looks like you updated it? I think I'm going to buy Butchered at Birth soon, and then make one of these too...I've definitely changed my opinion since the time I posted my rankings on the main CC thread
