AC/DC - Drummer Sentenced To Eight Months Of Home Detention

Phil Rudd, drummer of AC/DC, now has an official sentence for threatening to kill and drug possession charges. While not being sentenced to jail, he must serve eight months of home detention. Judge Ingram told Rudd he would end up behind bars if he breached any of the conditions of his sentence, which includes 24-hour monitoring at his waterfront home.

"I stone cold guarantee that's where you'll end up. I'm not your headmaster, I'm not your father, I'm a judge," Judge Ingram said.

Rudd's lawyers argued Rudd would lose millions of dollars worth of income if he was convicted as he would not be allowed into particular countries with a conviction. But Judge Ingram's reply was simply: "Queen replaced Freddie Mercury."

In ordering Rudd stay confined to his Harbour Drive, Tauranga, home, Judge Ingram also banned him from taking any drugs not prescribed to him.

Speaking from his waterside home in Tauranga, Rudd said: "I wrote them a letter but I've had no contact from anybody," adding he was 'disappointed' not to be touring with AC/DC now. He added: "I do actually [wish] I was [on tour]. I'm fit and ready and ready to go. I'm hoping I'll be discharged... We all make mistakes."

Not really that strange. It's not necessarily a young person's drug. I watched a doco and they had like 50+ year old women as meth heads. They started off as alcoholics/potheads in the 1970s/80s and then discovered harder drugs such as heroin and crystal meth.

Endemic drug abuse has been rampant in the West since the 1970s and has been getting progressively worse. The people who survived the 1970s are often now in their 50s and 60s. Not all cleaned up.

You're right, I'll be sure to think twice next time I cross an elderly person.
On a side note, and from one Australian to another, how much does Rudd look like a right cunt? I saw him on the news last night barking like a rabid.

Didn't see it - kinda glad though.

Unfortunately I voted for him back in 2007. I quickly realised he was a petty tyrannical megalomaniac with delusions of grandeur.

Problem in Australia is the political system is completely devoid of talent. The Prime Minister is a moronic right wing nutter with even bigger nutters and thugs supporting him (Morrison, Hockey and Eric "abortion causes breast cancer" Abetz).

The Labour party is just as bad - obviously Gillard and Rudd but now their current leader Bill Shorten seems to be involved in shady donations and jobs for boys.

It doesn't get any better at State level either.

The clever people become CEOs not politicians.

Basically I wouldn't be opposed to contracting the running of Australia to the Singaporean government.

I agree with what your political views, we need more politicians from science and engineering people whose minds operate on logic. Over the law and business backgrounds of pretty much all of the politicians currently.

Although by "Rudd" I did mean Phil Rudd, and by "from one Australian to another" I meant that as an exoneration for the use of the word 'cunt'. I should have worded it better.

Eight months of home detention? Sounds like a father grounding his son over watching a mature porn with his sister.

Weak verdict.

Also, speaking of Australian political system - i feel it is far better than what we have right now. India consider to be one of the biggest democracy and yet no one knows how to run it. Free laws with absolute stupidity convictions, state-govt fundamentals principles to run the system is horrendously obsolete and over the top, you have one of the dumbest prime minister ever.

The one who can bark from his cage and outside it's just as worthless as any street dog.

Our verdicts to suspects are so hilarious that sometimes I feel I should commit a crime and walk like a Brock Lesnar.

Umm... aren't unprescribed drugs illegal anyway? What's the point of this addendum?
