Nope you really do need the word "up" when using own in the way you used it.

Strangely enough I did find a dicvtionary whioch uses it the way you used it. But all others use it in combination with "up". SO, the own on its own is not the prevalent usage of it.

I saw Melechesh last year and never once did the thought "I'm gonna get tanked and get up the frontman's nose" cross my mind. Especially with how they took the stage in hoods and whatnot. He definitely didn't look like someone to trifle with. Glad he still gets to play for the Israeli fans though!

In the past "owned up to it" was the common way but I'd say "owned it" is now becoming more common and may even become more prevalent in usage. Language is constantly evolving. WIth regards to the actions of Mr Melechesh, hopefully he learns from this mistake and sticks to making and playing music. I've really enjoyed Enki and hope they tour down under and play some of those songs.

Gotta love modern justice systems - beat someone up, get arrested and then be put on "house arrest" and still be able to do whatever it is you do including play live music and party.

I was exaggerating for the murder.

Though I've seen sentences as low as 1-2 years for brutal murders in Sweden (including one where a guy brutally stabbed his sister a 100+ times (honour killing) and got 4 years gaol and then that got reduced to 2 years). People generally do not get more than 10 years in cushy prisons in the weakling Nordic states especially deluded socialist Sweden. Even in Norway gunning down 77 children in cold blood only gets one a measly 21 years in gaol.

Or look at metal:

Jon Nödtveidt (Dissection) - accessory to murder: 10 years (same as actual murderer). Both served 7 years

Faust (Emperor) - 14 years for murder, served a mere 9.

Varg Vikernes - 21 years for murder, served a mere 15

Pretty pathetic coz they were all cold blooded murders.

it doesn't say what happened other than he ended it. doesn't even mention if the fight starter was charged. doesn't mention whether or not he knocked him out and continued kicking him, or if the other guy kept coming at him until increasing levels f force were used to counter the threat.

we do not know what happened to the fight starter, the severity of injuries, whether or not he was charged.

Just want to inform you that they are currently prosecuting two terrorists that came back to Gothemburg as they were caught in a execution video. It's looking pretty good in that aspect as there's a strong chance they will be prosecuted for both murder AND terrorism so It might be 10-15 years or more sentence.

The current life imprisoment serves as at least 12-15 years. After this period is served there's an evaluation (with 2 judges and up to eight lawyers who represent both the victims and the community in general). The desicion can only be appellated twice (with the second one being in the supreme court)... If the evaluation determinates the criminal is still a highly dangerous individual the imprisoment will be extended to a total of 18 up to 25 depending on the case.

I don't give a care what you think of what I just wrote. That's your opinion and you are entitled to it. But if you are going to spit false info, I feel obligated to correct you. Yes, there are dodgy cases but same could be said about any country tbh. The jail system has been getting more strict since the Dissection days, you know? No, of course you don't. The same way I don't know anything about Australia and don't pretend otherwise.

you have not seen bars in my origin country I am not talking about capital city old town bars, but traditional soviet urban area. Deeper in country you go, you can be in a fight very day for wrong shoes or long hair ... never happens whit me in W Europe.

Diffusion is always possible. I've done it with guys getting right in my face.

Only time I ever got into a fight as an adult, I wanted to do it and swung the first punch against some guy being a dickhead at an AC/DC gig (and yeah I should've been arrested for assault and imprisoned for it but the dude was drunk and his crew outnumbered 12:3 so they bailed out of dodge without calling cops or laying charges and I was a young drunk dickhead).
