Whether drugs are good or bad depends entirely on how they are used, most of them have therapeutical uses, I have amphetamine on prescription, for instance...
During our decade, it seems that Poland is for black metal what Norway was in the 90s and France in the 00s. Hoodies have replaced corpse paint and with bands such as Mgła, Cultes Des Ghoules, Furia and now Batushka, this eastern European country is out to become the leader of the pack for the extreme genre. Litourgiya is hands down the best debut of 2015 and is battling with Mgła's Exercises In Futility for the title of black metal album of the year. And it probably beats it.
Can't speak for others here, but I personally love the combination of black metal and orthodox russian chants. That's a pretty neat move if you ask me.
The black metal content is fine, but was expecting something much more "unique". The chant part is definitely not as prominent as I thought it'd be (the average shrieks are just as common, if not more). It's pretty good though nothing to go crazy about.
When I first saw the hype of orthodox chant black metal (and "occult identities" trendiness) I was expecting this:
Well I've seen it hyped to shit on different websites, so I wouldn't necessarily say that (unless you mean you're the only one of the staff that liked it, in which case I see that haha). Personally just found it quite boring and uninspiring. Really don't see the appeal, but I suppose if enough people are going crazy about it they must have done something right
Got to admit that this grew on me immensely. If you get past the false promise of Black-Doom-Orthodox chant-Metal, it's actually some kick ass BM with some of the best riffs & melodies of the polish scene.
The only reason I gave it a 9 instead of a perfect score is because it gets a bit weaker towards its end. Probably because they made the mistake of placing last the two slowest songs on the album which disrupts the overall flow.
But the first 4-5 songs... (un)holy shit!!
POLAND - Sounding just as mysterious as they appeared to the horizon. The title however, is straight to the point of what is to be expected from this release. Superbly devout and musically sounding majestically alike veritable Eastern Orthodox Liturgies, this album is masterfully atmospheric, with haunting chanting laced with a venomous lead vocals, whilst building up to very strong riffing and breaking back down into almost meditative hymns. One of the best albums of 2015, without a doubt!

Surely you said the same thing after the 6th, no? What made you finish on a prime number?
No, I bought them all at once, and as I was checking out I saw how stupid huge my total was and had to promise myself that I wouldn't spend any more money on non-necessities for the rest of the month.
I listened to this shortly after and immediately regretted making that decision.
I deeply love this album, so soul-touching and majestic, specially those haunting chants.i wish i could discover more music like this album.i mean i'm in love with orthodox chants in black metal and dark ambient music, they give strange and fantastic feelings.
Harsh vocal in this album reminds me of Graveworm vocal,i used to love them in early years but now they are not as good as their old times.
