One of the weaker albums by Magnum, A Forgotten Conversation is a excellent song though.

Reading Magnum labelled as progressive rock gives me a headache; prog-related on their early work only.

Nope since this one and the one before are extremely a lot along the lines of On A Storyteller's Night and Chase The Dragon, so indeed progressive rock.

Magnum has never been a progressive rock band (that's why I said prog-related), their first 2 albums especially have progressive influences. On A Storyteller's Night is not prog rock at all if you ask me. Competent playing does not make a band progressive.

Then, for example, Marillion are also not a progressive rock band. And neither would be Pendragon. Just to name two bands.

Marillion & Pendragon are at least poly-rhythmic which Magnum is barely, they go beyond the simple pop & rock song structure (verse-chorus-solo that is).

You are really clutching at straws here...

Wow great album. I don't know this band so well, but this is good, hard rock album a heavy touch for this band. I like album artwork a lot same time what I have heard from older those were a bit soft albums , basically MTv1 music for 80's something, Prog rock , this album was heaviest from them all. Who said old farts cant rock?

What was I thinking back when it was released and gave it only a 5??? This album ROCKS! Feels like Tony Clarkin had great inspiration here as
it's better structured and have a greater flow than many albums before it. Not everything here is gold but there's much stuff here that
ranks up there among their best stuff and Bob sounds vital as ever. The cover art is also great, reminds me of The Eleventh Hour coverart!
