The Bipolar Disorder Project - Project Mainman Passed Away

Robert Cotoros, the man behind the one-man project The Bipolar Disorder Project, has tragically passed away in the hospital yesterday. He has also been a member of Hteththemeth and has worked with, produced and guested on works by several other bands including E-an-na and Karmic Thread, among others not listed on this website.

E-an-na posted the following message: "Today the world is a bit more empty, as with grief in our hearts we announce the departure of our producer & friend Robert Cotoros. An insanely skilled fellow, who shaped the sound of E-an-na into something of higher value than anything that we could have been able to achieve by ourselves. We deeply regret not having you around anymore for future music, and we do hope that you have gone to a happier place. It was truly an honour. Rest in peace, Bob."

Hteththemeth posted the following message, translated from Romanian: "Today is a very sad day for us. Two days ago we found out that our former member, Robert Cotoros, is hospitalized in serious condition. Today, Bob lost the fight and began another journey, to a new world, in which we hope he will find his place and in which he will be able to use his overflowing creativity much more to his liking. Bob, we shared many special moments, very good moments, but also hard moments, we went a long way together, which changed us all, both as people and as musicians. Even though our musical steps have gone in different directions, we did not expect our paths in this existence to part so soon. Have a smooth flight full of new experiences! With much sadness and regret, Hteththemeth."

Vlad Enescu of Karmic Thread posted the following message: "7 years ago, when I was still dazzled by the world of music, I came across a music project that left me speechless. Everything Robert did with The Bipolar Disorder Project seemed like ten levels above what I knew how to do, and I never imagined we would end up working together. We started talking, and I realized that in addition to being an extremely talented musician, there was also a guy with a great sense of humor, extremely intelligent and sensitive. Our first serious project was the album Unshipped Packages. For him it was an opportunity to write a few more different pieces, to experiment with other styles. For me, it was a lesson in devotion and discipline. Because the pieces I wrote went through his filter, something came out that I would not have been able to do on my own. Probably my favorite song I've ever worked with him will remain "There Will Come Soft Rains". It has a certain emotional charge that I don't think I'll find in any other music. All I can say is that it was an honor to meet you, and that you left us too soon."

I just finished listening to Anna because of this news and Radu's staff pick and it is so good. Such a shame when someone dies so young. Awful.
