ok, so you got your sword and shield ready, your plate mail suit is shiny like a mirror, and you're almost ready to go to battle! only problem is, what song should you play for the adrenaline to rush to your head and turn you from bored to supercharged?

my choices are:
-ensiferum-battle song(the intro works all the time )
-manowar-battle hymn(likewise, can't believe how epic a single clean guitar can sound here, this could very well have been on the soundtrack for 300)
-survivor-eye of the tiger(my "gym-song" lol)
-manowar-call to arms(makes me wanna grab a long shiny sword and fight the anti-metal horde)

i think that amon amarth's cry of the black birds would be most appropiate. not only do the lyrics say, charge your horses across the fields.... etc etc, it also has that energy and adrenaline you would need for such a moment. only bad thing is the lengh of the song, but it'd still work. also melechesh rebirth of the nemesis. imo those 2 songs carry as much energy and give so much adrenaline to go an saly whatever's in your path

Well, I agree with most songs that Lowelass wrote, I would add few more Thyrfing, Ensiferum, Amon Amarth, Warhead, Turisas songs, and thats it.

Man, I dunno, you can't go wrong with some power metal. Hey, you know that reminds me, Battlefiled by Blind Guradian, as well as Vallhalla I think are some good picks. But some Children of Bodom would definitly get me pumped, like "Silent night, Bodom Night" or "Downfall."
But if I REALLY wanna just tear someone to pieces in the heat of combat, I would wanna listen to some good old school DM, as well as Melodic DM. Examples would be like Carcass-Albeit Macht Frei, Arch Enemy-Savage Mesiah, Pestilence- Paraside, Cannibal Corpse- Anything lol.

I think Sabaton´s Into the Fire could be good battle song.

Ok...cut all the "epic and heroic" crap...we don't need it at all....battle...that's far from beautiful and heroic and fair...it's bloody, dirty and muddy....best song for a wild killing spree is "Pirun Nyrkki" by Turmion Kätilöt....a fine example here....

However, if we wish to gasp at war being so tragic and sad and that we are going to face our doom but at least with our hearts warmed by brotherly love and beautiful girls crying because of our soon to be dead bodies then Tyr's "Ragnarök" would fit the mood very well.....

Well, provided you're in the mood for Manowar, they're probably best for getting you in that heroic "battle" mood. Then again, if you're already in the mood, then Manowar music would just add to it. Anyhow, they would be the best I think, at making you think you're an awesome metal warrior.

Other than that, if you want to feel like more of a mature warrior, songs from Bathory's Hammerheart would do nicely. Warriors trudging into battle is some possible imagery you could associate with those songs. Particularly as the music would fit it, but the lyrics also might make you feel particularly patriotic towards metal. The "One Rode To Asa Bay" video could give you more ideas of just that.

Yes, manowar or raphsody are the first ones to come to mind, but I actually think that Rammstein would get me ready to spill some blood pretty well. Just imagine tank division running over foxholes while blasting Du Hast or Buch Dich. (well, for modernized warfare anyway):gunner:
