The Nu Metal pioneers, Korn have been putting out albums for some years now. While much of their fan base has dwindled, many of their albums are still talked about. So here is the question, what is your favorite album from Korn? For me, I am going with 2002's Untouchables. This album showed Korn going in a new, more Avant-Garde direction. Maybe it was because of their Faith No More influence. Maybe they were wising up? Maybe it was a fluke? Not sure. But the opening track, "Here To Stay" might be my favorite Korn song ever. So how about the rest of you?

I'd say Follow Teh Leader 'cause it has the songs that I liek the most, although it's a hard desition between FTL and Issues. I think FTL was the one that truly gave them fame and glory and money.

"Issues" is a big reason why I'm into metal these days, so it gets my vote.

Their first album is the only album I like from them...the second one gets really weird and whiny with a lot of guitar experimentation that is very tedious and annoying...and then after that they just fall into mainstream modality...Follow The Leader has some alright songs...there are also some good songs on Issues but as a whole those albums don't quite add up as the first...they're probably good as a whole in a way that I'll never quite understand anymore...

I think Follow The Leader is the best successful disc of KoRn. The songs have very good sonorous arrangements and the production of the disc is very good.

I remember getting into Korn quite heavily at one stage about 10 years ago.... I say Issues is their best album, because its a powerful album lyrically for Jon Davis.. He put a lot in that album.

Untouchables was my favorite back in the day, but when I recently revisited their discography I found Follow The Leader the most impressive. There's something very dark about their albums I never noticed before. I remember when nu-metal was taking over TRL, with Korn as the front runners, and it was a very strange time...

I liked KoRn, and Life Is Peachy the best. KoRn actually had some decent musical ideas/riffs, and some fairly proficient playing, and good lyrics. Life Is Peachy lost some of that proficiency, but gained some creativity, and had some truly weird stuff on there, which at the time, weird is good. Follow The Leader was okay, I liked the little joke song with Fred Durst, "All In The Family", so funny to hear Nu-Metals and rappers clowning on each other like that. Also, #22 don't remember the name, but #22 on FTL was their best song ever, in my opinion. And the little bagpipe thing on "My Gift To You" was okay. Issues was great lyrically, but musically it didn't deliver, and some songs lacked very heavily. That was when I quit listening to them, although I have heard their "Word Up" and "Another Brick In The Wall" covers, and I'm not thoroughly disappointed, especially with their version of ABITW, but not rushing to the store to buy the album. Not a bad band at all, honestly, just not enough musicianship and too much hype.

I remember listening to the live performance of Right Now probably 4 years ago and I couldn't get off that song. There was also a great intro to it in that show. Then I got Take A Look In The Mirror and loved it. I'm not into any other Korn album at all, but this one will always be special.

A hard decision all in all, but I think that "Issues" is my favorite, mainly because of the whole atmosphere and the lyrics of the album. "Korn", "Follow the leader", "Take a....", and "Untouchables" are also really cool albums.

Back when I was into KoRn was before issues came out. But when it came, it immediately got me. So I voted for issues. The whole atmosphere, the sound, the guitar work, everything just fits. Althoug from where I'm standing now neither the band nor their music give me anything now. If it weren't for those childhood memories of couse 'Untouchables' introduced a more violent sound, and I still liked Jonathan's singing (watch 'queen of the damned' for reference) but with 'Take a look ...' the whole thing just went down. Imo they should have stopped after 'Untouchables.' That'd have made them legends. Now they just keep getting more with rediculous every release.

08.10.2008 - 21:32 Written by X-Ray Rod on 08.10.2008 at 21:10 no problem, really. your answer has a reasonable tone: you have nothing to be sorry about ...and maybe my jokes are not that hilarious too anyway i do think they did no good record to date (i have to admit i stop listenting a couple of years ago, though), but some very good songs here and there. they are the archetype of bands that do really need a "best of" compliation... anyway: i voted for the first record too, maybe just because that was an innovation.
