At the Metalcamp show they played a riff from the new album! Watch it ->http://www.kyte.tv/ch/79697-metalcamp-tv-helloverparadise-08?rch=79697#uri=channels/79697/162358 the quility is quite bad but the riff sounds like trash to me. The also performed a cover of Painkiller! Oh I wish i was were!

Norther is about as Viking Metal as Abba...

Yeah about "Time"...Seems that whenever theres an update from the Wintersun camp, we get the same rehearsed excuses "oh our pc's broke". Umm we know that, weve known that for more than a year now, release this album already! I hope they realise that with every 6 months going buy the fans expect that much more from this album. I do have faith in Jari pulling off something amazing, yet by now theyve had so much time for making it fantastic that even an amazing albums wouldnt be good enough Then again it did take Jari 10 years to write "Sleeping Stars", so hopefully he can pull something out of the hat which is even better in half the time it took him to write that song.

Kick ass band! And Fucking epic too

Another thing I love about 'em is some of their songs are fucking long ass epics. It's awesome. Most their songs are like, 7+mins

I can't wait for Time to be released. Their last album was surprisingly good. If they continuo with the great work they're definitely going far.

Both. Norther is extreme power metal. And according to metal-archives, Wintersun is Epic Melodic Death Metal. I don't even know if thats a real genre but its sure better then the genre Jari called Wintersun. I just know that Wintersun is neither folk or viking metal. Maybe like 4% but thats about it.

wintersun's genre is epic melodic death/extreme power metal. and it's a real genre. but not folk or viking. that's ensiferum.

Yeah Wintersun is probably more in the same genre as old Children of Bodom...extreme Power Metal but more epic than COB. Their lyrical theme doesnt really reflect viking metal either , more coldness, hardship, winter and icy landscapes in a way....no real reference to anything viking.

Epic atmopshere is the lofty side of Wintersun why I like the band.

Wintersun: 200 polyphonic tracks per son
COB: Approximately 12 homophonically textured tracks.

I see a winner.

Why do people even use these two bands in the same sentence....Children of Bodom as they currently stand or have been fore the past couple of releases dont even deserve to be in the same room as Wintersun....Bodom should sit in the corner of a piss-ridden cubicle while jari should be in the most lavish VIP section in some obscure place where young naked maidens rub themselves on him while hes smoking a big cigar nodding in acknowledgment when they tell him how fuckin fantastic he is

Someday, hopefully in the not so distant future, 'Time' will be born and the brains of many a listener will implode due to the sheer complexity of what it is. Well, that's what I'd hope to expect after waiting almost 5 years and having to contend with the amount of excuses they've made!!

The way I see it, if its creation melts computers then it must be absolutely amazing, surely??
