You know the drill, post any metal album released/upcoming in 2018 that you listened, found worthy and want to recommend to others.
UK one-man black metal with a heavy wall-of-noise production. Its on Sentient Ruin, so guaranteed to deliver.

^^^ Already posted Depths Above but good to see it's finally out, More importantly: new Chapel Of Disease! Expect quality old school death metal laced with doom (at least in the full thing I imagine). Atmospheric deathcore? If it's a thing it's a good sounding thing. RØT Lo-fi, ambient / atmos black. Only a 10 minute song though, but good nonetheless. Kaffaljidhma

This is now fully listenable. An absolute beast of a black / death metal EP. One of those "ordinary" black metal records I like. Honest, expressive sound with a subtly melancholic edge. Audible bass is a plus too. Rather good post-black from Russia. WOWOD

Un out. Sounds large. Un Nice gritty grind. Recluse This is now on Bandcamp. Mizmor Some sort of blackened prog thing. Quite interesting and good once you've let it settle in a bit. Dragonauta Microntonal / out-of-tune frenetic black with a thrash sensibility. Zorn

Some insturmental psychedelic rock / post-rock / progressive rock from Greece. Lots of styles that are blended in a really nice way. And psychedelic metal / post-metal from Belgium. It's a long album but it offers enough variety to keep the listener's attention.

Sick, dissonant and somewhat ordthodox style bm with a moody atmosphere and phenomenal artwork. Ars Magna Umbrae New Dodsferd sounds very nice. I get a Primordial feel from the released track. Dødsferd Interesting, to me Eastern-themed chamber music metal. Alchemy Chamber More great sounding atmospheric drone music from thisquietarmy.

Psychedelic doom metal from Canada. Love the sound of the guitars on this record. The dark and ominous sound they went for, works really well imo.

Google says this is a 2017 release but I don't think it is. Really great experimental black metal on Sentient Ruin, that makes cool use of noise textures. Rotting Sky

This is finally out <3 Harkens back to that proper nature black metal feel of bands like Burzum, Drudkh, Wyrd etc. that just doesn't seem to exist much anymore. Eosphoros

Idk whether to put this in the non-metal thread or here so I'll just go with this thread. The new Soldat Hans album is kinda like a mix of folk, jazz, doom metal, and it comes together as an absolutely stunning combination and utterly captivating. Not exactly metal, but it's not exactly any specific genre. Departures by Death Will Tremble is also pretty tight though not particularly boundary breaking. Solid doom type stuff with a vocal performance more akin to a hardcore band (at least to my ears).

Digging his. Sort of off-kilter post-black thing. Reminds me of something but too early in the morning to think what. Described on MA as Psychedelic Doom / Black Metal. Kalmen Previous album also seems great and fairly sure I've heard it going by the art. So this is an ex-member of The Axis of Peridtion's band, and it sounds exactly like you would want it to sound. Lots of dissonant picking riffs, and atmospherically industrial and rich. Excellent modern production. TAoP lives! Haeiresis

Solid death metal (which I'm posting mainly for the artwork) Dysphotic Ultra-chilled stoner / psyche / desert rock. Can't imagine many people would be as into the vocal style as I am, but I am. King Bison Fun old-school black / thrash with psychedelic soloing and leads. Curse Eternal Suffering Quota are back again with more balls to wall grind of the best kind. Great art from them again.

Don't really know quite how to describe it but I like it a lot. Some sort of prog-rock / psyche with some metallic elements. Can't wait for the whole thing. Hadean The first tag on their Bandcamp is Candlemass and a bunch of other doom bands, so you can guess what this sounds like. Night Gaunt Chilean prog black. Voragine of Autumn Great old-school black. Tight, riffy, frosty and grim. Proch Down as death metal on their Bandcamp page, but this seems more like some kind of modern prog that you might see on Basick Records. Sunless Dawn This seems cool. Post-hardcore laden, angular post-metal of some kind. Whoredom Rife. Very nice, earthy black metal on what's probably the best record label right now.

This sounds awesome. Instantly unique sounding black metal. Also Bolzer-ish at times. Totenmesse Tech death with proper production for once. Nice bass too. Sutrah Some some of the most varied and poignant post-metal I've heard in a while. Vocals don't quite enamour me but more than makes up for it musically. Marsh Dweller More post-metal, this time more riffy and energetic. Space Cadaver Fun sounding horror speed metal. Vanik

New Soul Grip sounds like some intense, aggressive black metal. There seems to be less of a hardcore side to it than with the debut, although it's hard to tell from one track and it has been a while since I listened to Avadon.

Upbeat punky noise-rock music is not boring. Upper Wilds This is fully out now, and it's good. Moss Upon The Skull I wish this was longer as it's a masterclass in nasty. Evulse Pretty nice, emotional atmos-black. Realm of Wolves And somewhat more direct (black) atmospheric black metal from the UK. Crimson Throne
