From the ashes of the mighty, yet criminally underrated Nagelfar, rose the new one-man-project The Ruins Of Beverast. Musical mastermind and sole member Alexander Von Meilenwald had decided that he had nothing more to say with Nagelfar, and frankly, it was a good decision. Not only had he already released the brilliant "Srontgorrth", a highlight that cannot be reached once more anyway, but he also felt that it was time for a change in a style. Out with the bombastic Avant-Garde Black Metal filled with trumpet-tongued angels and apocalyptic electronics, in with a far more basic, dark and despairing type of Black Metal.

And Atmospheric Black has allegedly become hipster music now, underrated as hell.

I have arrived too. Yet to listen to their other albums but this one is one of the darkest albums I've ever heard. Brilliant atmospheric stuff.

The Clockhand's Groaning Circles is a FUCKING BANGER

I am the Magician and the Exorcist. I am the axle of the wheel, and the cube in the circle. “Come unto me” is a foolish word: for it is I that go.

...always Between Bronze Walls for me, still, until this day one of the best black metal songs ever.

This is one of those albums I found through sample songs on myspace, Between Bronze Walls for example. Bought the album, thought I could never digest all of it, numerous replays later and there it clicked. There was never going to be published an album so influencial or special for me. Still holds up years later. Rest of the discography have their own place/time, this one just has that extra little something.
