By this I do not mean your favorite albums, what I wanna know is which albums are most important, dearest or means the most to you. It could be the album that got you into metal, the album that changed everything you thought you knew about music, the album someone you like gave to you and of course, it can also be your favorite album.

My list:

Metallica - Master of Puppets, Metallica, Load, ReLoad, S&M
MoP has been my favourite song ever since I first heard it when I was 12. That album changed my life and fully got me into Metal, it made me know that Metal is everything for me. The Black Album was a very early album for me, helped me got into the genre and was the second album I bought. The two follow-ups are maybe not the best albums ever but when my family went to Greece and drove around the country in a car my mom had a walkman and a tape with those two albums on, which she gave me. I listened to it and loved it and this was before I got into Metal. S&M was my first live album and I'm such a sucker for both Metallica live and orchestras.

Iron Maiden - Dance of Death, Brave New World, Rock in Rio, Somewhere in Time, Killers
DoD was the very first album I bought. BNW and RiR was the first Metal I liked, the first step to a Metalhead. SiT was one of my first albums and Killers... well, it's such a magical album which was there for me many times.

Children Of Bodom - First four studio albums
All their first four albums helped me become a Metalhead and appreciate more extreme metal. These albums are classics to me and this band means so much for me.

These three bands and their albums are listed first for many reasons. They remind me of a much easier and happier time in my life. But the main reason is because they were the only, and I mean ONLY Metal, I listened too for like 4 years! I thought it didn't exist any more good bands, seriously. But then this band came:

Norther - Dreams of Endless War
Since I heard that these guys would sound like CoB there was no doubt if I should get an album. So I bought DoEW and it changed everything. It made me realise that there exist more bands and so much better Metal out there!

I guess that Norther really helped me become the person I am today, or maybe the Metalhead I am today.
Now the list goes on without any special order.

Dream Theater Images and Words, Metropolis Pt 2: Scene from a Memory
These albums made me see that Metal has so much to offer. DT played music and made me feel in a way I didn't thought was possible.

Cradle Of Filth Damnation and a Day
Because this one made me get into Black Metal. (Don't cry all Black Metal fanboys, I know it's not a Black album... at all )

Nightwish Oceanborn, Wishmaster
Got me into female vocals.

Nevermore - Dreaming Neon Black, i was totally into this album because of the feelings of Dane (vocals) for the concept. It shows a man that has been hurt so much in his life, he has lost his love and he dies because he has no more will to live with so much despair in his life.

Cynic - Focus, this album is the first avant-guard album i bought and got me into all the avant-guard bands. Now it's my favourite album of all time

Tiamat - Deeper Kind Of Slumber, i really can't say what makes this album so unique to me, it's like every man once in his life is touched by a muse. That exactly has happenned here.

Meshuggah - Chaosphere

One of the first albums I bought and something that featured throughout late highschool and college cozz I always listened Meshuggah back then. One of the few albums I can listen to over and over without needing to be in the right mood for it. Its probably the only album that gives me deja vu everytime i listen it..

1. Slayer- South Of Heaven- The album that got me into extreme metal. I already had bought Show No Mercy before this one but I doubt that I would have viewed Slayer or metal the same way if I hadn't bought South Of Heaven after SNM.

2. Opeth- Still Life, Blackwater Park, Ghost Reveries- Got me into my favorite band. Opeth are so amazing that it's hard to put into words how good they are. Akerfeldt is so talented and in my opinion, he has the best vocals in metal. The lyrics also mean a lot to me too.

3. Iron Maiden- Caught Somewhere In Time- What can I say? It got me into Maiden. And the cover art is cool too. Not a bad song on the whole album.

4. Black Sabbath- Master Of Reality- One of the heaviest albums of all time and one of Sabbath's best. It got me into Sabbath.

5. Iced Earth- Burnt Offerings- The album that got me into IE and it includes one of my all-time favorite songs- Dante's Inferno.

6. Pantera- Vulgar Display Of Power- My first album of Pantera. I chose it because it's got some great songs and the lyrics mean a lot to me.

7. Children Of Bodom- Follow The Reaper- Helped me get into power metal. It's definitely got to be one of my favorite albums.

"The Wall" of Pink Floyd, because is the most complete work of art into rock ever.
"Screaming for Vengeance" of Judas Priest, because was the first vynil I bought of one of mi fav bands.
"Ride the Lightning" of Metallica, because with this album I knew thrash metal and I began to enjoy some good years of Metallica.
"Peace Sells.... But Who's Buying?" of Megadeth, because was the first vynil I bought of other of my fav bands.
"Operation Mindcrime" of Queensryche because with this album I thought that a new and a metalic Pink Floyd was here.
"Night of the Stormrider" of Iced Earth, I bought it in tape version first, with this album I found that extreme music could have so great melodies than classical music.
"Tales from the Thousand Lakes" of Amorphis, brcause with this album I confirmed that I knew Amorphis with this album.
"Theli" of Therion, because this album was on the same line but..... better!!! I knew Therion with this album.
"10 Years of Chaos and Confusion" of Hypocrisy because with this album I knew other of my fav bands ever.
Sorry if I extended this post a lot, but I'm too old for only a few albums There are many more albums and many more reasons why I like these............

Megadeth-rust in peace, because it's quite possibly the only album in which i love all of the tracks.i mean it's just perfect.Rust in Peace..polaris simply demands you headbang to it,and the final 20 seconds are simply genius
Nightwish-Wishmaster not because of the same reason, but because it's just so complete.it has it all.tear-jerker ballads?Dead boy's poem and Two for tragedy.songs with a dark feeling?Come Cover me, The Kinslayer,Bare grace. Light-speed power metal?Crownless.Uplifting songs? She is my sin, wanderlust, sleepwalker, deep silent complete,Wishmaster. Pure epic artwork?FantasMic.i'd prefer the album without sleepwalker,as i think fantasmic is a superb closing track

All of Tool album's changed my life...I often say,"Tool is my religion".

Ginnungagap's Remeindre (drone/doom/ambient) is most bleak and empty album I've ever heard...no funeral doom or similar stuff can't be such empty. This album is INHUMAN.

Pig Destroyer's Terrifyer and Anaal Nathrakh's The Codex Necro and Total Fucking Necro are kinda "supreme" for me /opposite of i.e. sludge or hardcore albums, that have attitude "against the oppression" - this albums ARE "oppression"/ - I feel supreme when I listen them

i dont know if i have any particular albums that really do mean all to to me - nearly all of them i own do
i suppose the two that mean a lot though are Emperor's 'Anthems To The Welkin At Dusk' and Helloween's 'Keeper Of The Seven Keys Part II'
both of them launched me into the world of real metal and i probably wouldnt have even bothered with them if it wasnt for this site

I have lots of albums that are precious stuff for me, so, I'll decide for some ones:
Epica - Consign To Oblivion: I just love this album, all their songs, I feel represented with the album, specially for the music, it takes me to fantastic worlds where I find myself and many important things for me and also, the atmosphere it creates is awesome

Lacrimosa - Echos: I love this abum for the music too, some of their songs are a great inspiration for me

Sonata Arctica - Ecliptica: with this album I doscovered this great band, I really like the music and the feelings in it and this album is really different from common power metal, so, that's another reason for the meaning it has for me

Within Temptation - Mother Earth and The Silent Force: with these albums I discovered the band and was one of the first bands that got me into metal, also, I love the atmosphere that the music creates

Haggard - the 3 albums: because I discovered the 3 at the same time, and with this band I discovered a metal style that I never thought that could exist, awesome, and I feel really represented with this style

Therion - The Secrets of the Runes: with this one I knew the band, like Consign to Oblivion, the album creates awesome fantasy worlds for me, and I really like the lyrical content of the album

Deep Purple - In Rock oh yeah my very first rock album. On of the best hard rock albums ever.
Iron Maiden - Piece of Mind opened to me heavy metal gods.
Megadeth - Capitol Punishment. first trash for me. although this is compilation it really kicks ass. I like all the songs here.
At The Gates - Slaughter of the Soul superb album of one of my favourite bands.
Also, my very personal is russian band Ariya (don't think they are fucking nazis!) They play heavy metal. I heard them before Maiden and because of them bought first Maiden albums.. Ironically.

There are lot of albums I like, and which should get a 10/10.

But the one, which really means something to me personally, is Bethlehem´s "Mein Weg".
Why? hard to say .. It became a castle of firmness, a castle with moat. For some weeks I could listen to it every day a time or twice. There wasn´t even a part left of a critical point of view, yes, it was invulnerable.

The Philosopher
It's not really an album as much as it is a DVD, But Iron maiden-The Early days, because of that, I got into Maiden hardcore, and thus leading me into other types of metal.

Also-MegaDeth: Rust In Peace........Polarus.
This opened me up to a world of thrash and landed Megadeth at Number four in my top Five favorite Bands.

Lastly-Shadows Fall-The Art of Balance: This opened me up to the more gutteral and brutal side of metal, and also showed me just how deep and complex metal can be. A Fire in Babylon, Oh MAN!!
