I like metal cause well....why not? It gets you pumped, theres lots of skill in it depending who it is. Most of the greatest guitarists are in metal.

I love metal because, compare to other styles of music, each member is important in a band of metal. We love the guitarist more than the singer, etc. Each member can prove is talent as much as any other member of the same group. If we check in pop, for example, who cares of the musicians in the group?
Also, metal is a good style to see the music at his best. It's in the metal music that we can find the greatests guitarists, singers, drummers ...

...it really is good music, it is not just another song or stuff like the things are usually heard everywhere (at least in my country)...most metal bands are conformed by talented musicians who have the gift of transmiting emotions and feelings i personally dont get with any other type of music (except classical music)...

I adore metal music because I go crazy with the sound of the guitar, a heavy sound, the metal riffs, obviously complemented with the drums, bass, plus other instruments that might be added to get a metal song preferred; metal music just can bring up all my emotions, my softest and my heaviest feelings, i can blow my head away with all this music, that I cant do with other genres and styles; this music is one of the few things that keeps me sane and is the only way I can totally really express myself, my hate, indifference, sadness love, despise, likes, dislikes, apathy, coldness and my deepest regrets, plus other hidden feelings, that sometimes I'm afraid to show to everybody; besides metal music gives me a lot of value to make diverse things I'm scare of, and they're not necessarily bad ones; and that's why I love metal music

I startedwith extreme metal (thrash) and i like it because it was a totally blasting new music for me, and all my represed feelengs can come out in a gig or listening to kreator, but after i convert to the melodic genre, and that is because i love metal, there is a genre for everyone and it's full of culture, beauty, amazing melodies, and i think every music in the world like metal because is a very full genre.

I think disco is not a good music.Dance-music isn't melodius.I feld that bad feeling when i listen dance-music.

I like metal because its a very diverse genre of music, filled with talented musicians. On one hand, I love of the power and aggression found in metal from the power heavy guitar sound to the thundering drums and bass and the nice clean vocals, as well as the killer growls. On the other hand, I enjoy the soft side of metal with the acoustic guitars and keyboards and other instruments.

I just love how there is so many different genre's of metal and each has something unique to offer. I like the emotions it invokes...I enjoy the melodies...and the technicality of some bands. I understand metal in the sense that when I listen to a certain song, I can understand the emotion they are trying to send to their listeners. Simply put....I fucking love metal!

Because it is all in one, you have aggression, you have melody and quality music, in classic you have only melody and quality, rock is the same, but in metal you have fucking everything and that is amazing, I also like metal because it is not (at least it wasn't) fake music like r'n'b, it is not all about the money, it is in some way style of life, atitude and way of thinking, looking at the world from the different view and it is always opened for new horizons, fresh ideas and insan projects. Many metal musicians have balls to do something never tryied and in many cases it is awesome, I like metal because it made bands like Manowar or Darkthrone, I like metal because of variety of music Helloween and Emperor, so different, still metal... I can write till tomorrow why I like metal but...

The dichotomy of metal --brutal riffs, dissonance, and growls juxtaposed against lush and expansive acoustic soundscapes-- is my favorite aspect of the genre.

Reason: Metal has the same Extrmemity, Hatred, Brutality, Complex yet simple things that I enjoy and can Relate to.

Why do I like metal? Because it is my style of music, I just got attached to it and began listening to it, after that it had inspired me to start playing guitar.

The heavy sound fills me with energy, lifts my mood and makes me feel great. I like this different approach to music. I have also found a lot of interesting themes in this music, politics, history, mythology, philosophy etc. I admire some of the more rebellious aspects of metal, they often fill me with power and make me look at things differently.

I can also add that most people I know, who are connected to metal are quite interesting persons and I find them to have wider eyesight than alot of others.

i would best describe it as my daily caffiene. i need a jump start in the morning and all through the day, and metal acts as this catalyst. also with folk metal, i feel as if it almost puts me in a new environment or surroundings. i guess what im trying to say is metal is enegry and a form of escape, both which i value greatly

Metal to me is ENERGY. It gets the heart pumping. It wakes you up. Any other type of music makes me want to fall asleep. A day without METAL is like trying to drive a car without gas. METAL makes the day go by much quicker. I just wish that there would be more radio stations that would play METAL. It would be nice if at work you would hear FIREWIND or DREAM EVIL on the radio. They play alot of lame stuff on the radio.

Metal makes me feel good.
I love the reaction I get from people when I tell them I'm into metal. They look at me with this blank stare and usually make some sort of comment like "I didn't know there were people like you still around."

That's a good question...
I mean : I know why I love metal : because it's rich, powerful, vast, creative, deep, sophisticated...

But sometimes I understand people who think that metalheads are crazy. I mean, deep inside we know that we're nice people, but just look at the names of the songs we hear. I was struck when I saw in the new releases list the name "Mors Principium Est : Liberation = Termination". How many depressed songs preaching suicide do we hear ? A lot. Extreme metal : violent lyrics, brutal sounds.
Don't misunderstand me. I've been listening to metal for years and I'm not betraying my favorite genre, and I'm not like the stupid narrow-minded people who think that every corpse-painted boy can become a killer. I'm just wondering : what attracts us to some aspects of the genre (not all bands, but quite a lot) which are morbid, depressing and dark ? Are we sick ?

Metal has a high quality taste of music for me(Sure there are some awful examples) and first i choose it for considering music.And then metal music can take cases from a different angle and create different and unusual ideas for them.It can judge everything without thinking its conclusions(I mean effects that it will create in nonthinking society) and feeling scared of nothing.

I know my answer to that. To truly appreciate life you have to understand all aspects to it. Even the dark sides of life. I have always been facinated by the dark parts, murder, violence, war.... you know the deal... But that doesnt mean that I want to take part of it, instead I want to learn about it, just to appreciate the parts of life which doesnt involve thoose things. For example, I never enjoyed taking a walk in the woods at night before I realised, that it was so beutiful, and ofcourse the reason I realised it was so beutiful especially at night was because it was calm, silent and it was so soothing and relaxing to just walk around with no thoughts of violece, rape, murder / whatever and just enjoy the beuty of life.

I love metal because of the musics ability to tranfer energy, like where your at a metal show (well at least in my region) all that energy is transfer into the people and out through the mosh pit. In the mosh pit, everyone is equal, wether your a girl or boy, man or woman, child or adult, you will be treated no diffrent. In the mosh pit, if you fall there are always hands reaching to help you up. The point is not hurt anyone but use your raw energy, something almost premordial. Another thing, is honor, a metal head without honor is nothing more than a headbanger with a band shirt (at least to me). You should always have a code of honor.

There has been a huge scandal in France two years ago. Two young girls (aged 13) committed suicide in the most morbid way : they told their boyfriends to go in another room, said they were preparing a surprise, then told them to come in, cried "surprise !" and jumped through the window of the 17th floor. They were listening to metal (a French band with extremely gory lyrics, Eths). All the newspapers talked during one week about the effects of metal on young people. What I think is : you don't commit suicide because you've heard a song. Maybe you can feel close to such songs when you're already depressed, but metal won't transform a happy person into a gloomy suicider. Still sometimes I'm shocked by the ambiguous attitude of bands. They sing that they want to die, but they perfectly now that they'll never do it, because they're rich beautiful and famous, and young sad teenagers feel understood by them... Sometimes it makes me sick to see that.
