Well he did release "The Armageddon Rag" in 2007, so I doubt he spent much time on A Dance with Dragons,, I was really hoping it would come out this summer, but I don't even think it'll be out in 2007

Yup, I saw on Martin's forum, book will definetely will be out next year, of cause that is not his statement so it is still possible he will give us nice Christmas or New Year present

I have just finished reading 'A Clash of Kings'.

The story is getting more and more complicated.
I was going to have a break and read something else before i started on the next book.

But I need to know what is going on , so I will go straight onto 'A Storm of Swords'.

I want to thank Aronax of Steel for starting me on these books.
I am really enjoying reading them.

No problem hanna, actually, there is one... remember, there are no other books until you finished these series, but you'll see, it is so addictive

hahaha,, yeah as Aronax stated, there is no other book until you finish the series,, I got so addicted to them that when i went to work I had xeroxed copies of the chapters and placed them between my workload, and read when there was no one around

yeah it was that addictive

hahaha I aslo used to carry them at school, but the best part is when chemistry professor asked me what kind of book it is, I borrowed her first tome, and she was amazed too

I can't believe that it has been over 6 months of the HBO acquiring the license for the books and no news yet of it!!

Any guesses on who will be playing the characters?

I think Kirstin Dunst will be an excellent Queen Cersei

I think Brienne is dead indeed, I don't see any reason why would he resurrect her too, he already done it with few characters, and I was hoping that Sendor is alive, but he is not, I don't won't another disappointment.

I always liked Jaime, even when he was evil, I like his humor

And I am glad Cersei was put where her place is, I hope she will rot in there, but somehow, I doubt.

It really sucks HBO is keeping everything so quiet.

@ Bararey - yes I think Brienne is dead too.

Although that is a shame because I quite liked her character , and I wanted to see what was going to happen between her and Jaime.
They obviously liked each other .

Arya won't be blind for long , she is too central to the main story to be out of action for long.

Cersei and Catelyn should be locked up in a room together and allowed to bitch it our between them - I don't like either of them.

Tyrion , he's a sneaky one and will be found where he is least expected.

I would like there to be more Jon Snow in the next book.
He seemed to go missing in the last one.

I left my books in Kuwait, so I had to stop at a books store and reread the ending of the chapter where they hanged her, at the very end she screamed one word, and I am still thinking that that word is going to save her, make that crazy lady or someone else cut the rope or at least I hope so!

Yeah the series is so addicting I am sure you'll 'make' time to finish the books

All books I thought were really good, and each chapter was greatly written, especially the endings, they just left you hanging,,,

So far in your reading do you have any theories of what's going on? Who's behind what?

I don't know, I'm not sure... But I take them from the library and I have to take the third one back on Thursday, and I haven't read even half of it, so no, I'm definitely not going to finish them, at least until summer.

Just noticed there was a thread about this book series, I read the three first books a few months ago but took a break after A storm of swords since I thought evereything went so bad for many of the main characters and needed to read more uplifting books for a while. So far in the books I like the characters Jon Snow, Arya and also the dwarf Thyrion best (maybe I've got some natural sympathy since I'm very short). I'm thinking of taking up this series again, it was really interesting with a fantasy world almost without magic but with a lot of war and realistic intrigues.

Too bad about Eddard though I did not see it coming at the end of book one, but I guess it was essential to have the events rolling I guess.

I loved John before, he is not among my favorite characters now, since he become captain of the night guard he is not that interesting like he used to be, I was very sad when his girl died

What happened to Eddard? I totally forgot, it's been a long time, or my brain just don't work anymore after litres of beer I took last week...

She had to die for the plot to continue, she has no place in his future life, he is going to be with if my guess is right) Daenerys.

Eddard,, remember at the end when they told him they'll forgive him but he has to serve on the wall? but instead they chopped his head off And Arya almost ran forwards slashing with Needle.

Jon becoming Lord of the Nightwatch is going to give his character more maturity and responsibility, I am mainly worried about that Red Priestess.. I really hate her.

And Yeah it is time to re-read the books, I miss them, and I forget a lot of details

Hey Telcontar have you read Serbian or English translation, Serbian is prrety good for change, usually they suck...
Ricon... hmmm... I don't have any logical ideas, Osha is really misterious, at least to me, they could be anywhere, but I doubt they are far from North...

Actually, it's quite nice, but I read the whole series 3 times, and third time I read it in english (i gave away all my books on serbian as gifts) and it's much better that way. Btw new book should come out during 2008 I hope...

I too think she is still alive, maybe in the last minute they cut the rope due to the word she screamed out,
You think she screamed Ice? that's interesting never thought of that.
And well Brenie is the only character that noticed the huge resemblance between Gendry (Robert's bastard son) and the house of Baratheon, that would be interesting to see how Gendry will discover his parentage
