But as for me, the last one I watched was Iron Maidens DVD "Raising Hell" which was Bruce Dickonsons last show before leaving for ten years It was a good show oveall but the performances were disapointing in comparison to say Live at the rainbow or beast over hammersmith.

I'm still always watching the "Wrath Of The Norseman" DVD by Amon Amarth. It's really great. All the performances, the sound quality, the duration of the DVD (it comes close to 6,5 hours), the replay-value, it's all perfect. And I've always wanted to have a DVD from our viking friends.

Iron Maidens the early days Yeah it's a great DVD, but I wanted to watch the documentery and I was over at my cousins house house sitting for the weekend. Well when I pulled out the DVD I saw that the second disc was missing. That made mad because that's what has the documentery on it. So I said to myself "What the hell, some live at the rainbow and beast over hammersmith can't hurt." I then proceeded to wath the footage and chill out.

The Last Waltz. Hands down the greatest recording of a concert recording ever. The final performance of The Band with guests Eric Clapton, Neil Diamond, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Van Morrison, Ringo Starr, Muddy Waters and Neil Young. The event was filmed by director Martin Scorsese and made into a documentary. If you have not see it drop what you are doing and go out to buy it. NOW!

I watched a bit of Alive in Athens by Iced Earth, but the actual last dvd I saw was Pain of Salvation's "Be (Original Stage Production)" , and I may say that it is easily one of the best dvds I have ever seen! The performance was amazing, DG was really into his performance! I'd recommend it to any PoS fan or any prog metal fan, or anyone who just loves watching amazing performances!

Anthrax-Alive 2 Awsome concert, filmed in 2005 on their reunion tour, still as awsome as they were in 1985.

Judas Priest-Rising in the East i saw it on the last day of 2006, and it's still embeded in my memory... the pyrotechnics, halford stomping accross the stage in the grinder tempo, the awesome ending for exciter(staaaand by for exciteeeeeeeeeeeEEEEERR), the "woaohaoahoao" bit near the end, they all make a fantastic DVD, it's just stupendous.

Enslaved-Live retaliation I bought and watched this DVD a few months back, (but discovered this thread just now! ), ok, a nice concert, I got to listen (and at the same time watch) a few songs which I didn't have... but there are a few points in that concert which disappointed me, they are: 1. The sound of the drums isn't clearly recorded 2. The solos have been performed badly (i.e. their originality has been replaced with something awful) Ok, rest is fine... an I recommend it to enslaved fans (not the fans who are enslaved but the fans of the band called Enslaved )

Children Of Bodom-Chaos Ridden Years-Stockholm Knockout Live Just got back from watching it at a friends house, pretty cool DVD, didnt get to watch the bonus' but we were brainstorming on some drinking games that could go along with that DVD, and I forgot all my ideas. I was very impressed with the performance (though it didnt surprise me considering I already had the CD of it...and wrote a AR for it)

Cannibal Corpse box set DVD- 15 year killing spree This was released for their 15 year anniversery and it contains four three live shows. Two with Chris Barnes and one with George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher. The Chris Barnes performances were good but fairly B rate. The Corpsegrinder performance kicked some ass though. They also had footage from their very first show, with an impressive show-up of 450 people, which is alot for their first gig. Andf finally, it showed footage of the great alex webster doing some scratch recording.

Last Band DVD I watched was Red Hot Chili Peppers- Live at Slain Castle Ok, so this is a really good concert. It has great camera angles, freezez, and just general good shooting. They were full of energy the whole performance, and there were even a couple of solo performances by John Frusiante. One of which was a fifties cover of some song I'm sure. Flea had a couple of Bass solo's as well, it was really cool. My favorite part was when Flea and John actually did some kind pre-rehearsed duet. It was amazing. Great Fucking Concert.

Sentenced - Buried Alive Simply amazing. Production is just brilliant and the lighting and effects really set a nice mood and atmosphere for the performance. The concert is very good with a pretty good setlist (although I would have liked if they played some more stuff from their earlier days). Regardless, the concert was still very good and it was a solid performance. The best part of the show definitely being the use of lighting and I was also very glad that Taneli Jarva joined them on stage for some of their older songs. As for the extras, they were pretty good, but not the best. The interviews were pretty interesting.

The last one I saw was the "Alive In Athens" DVD, by Iced Earth. That one is really cool, and Matt Barlow is still with them on the DVD, and there he still has really long hair. The DVD is really cool, and they play most of their classics from that time, and a lot of songs from the "Something Wicked This Way Comes" album.

24.08.2007 - 13:57 Written by MadGatsu on 30.07.2007 at 02:27 And now thanks to you, I also have that DVD ehehe But I still didnt watch it. My last one was "Dream Theater - Live at Budokan" which arrived yesterday to complete my DT dvd collection. Well, it is wonderful, I had already listened to the live cd but with the images it is a totally different experience. I actually thought Labrie's voice was quite good, definately much better than you hear it on the live cd. The band is amazing as usual, I loved the keyboards solo, I think it's beautiful. And, they play songs that I love, particularly "stream of consciousness", "trial of tears". The setlist is very good. I also liked the extras, particularly the documentary, I would like to see more of Myung though, but he seems to get away from the spotlight most of the time. I guess I'll have to live just with his participation on Score.

Nightwish's End Of An Era I bought this quite a few months ago but with school priorities and exams, I haven't actually had the time to watch it from start to end. Anyway, finally got around to watching it in it's entirety and this is an amazing DVD. The bands performance was incredible. The lighting, production, sound and the atmosphere just seemed exceptional. The setlist features some of their greatest songs in my opinion.

Carpathian forest live perversions, let me think... uhm to be honest is scary to see those fat naked ladies making fun of theirselves, its cruel and lame. Or at least that was my impression. And its hard to listen to the music while they are dancing around. Rather listen to their cds by myself naked lol

Cannibal Corpse's Live Cannibalism. For some reason I disliked it. Alex Webster puts on a good show, but I think I just miss Chris Barnes too much. I'm not really a big George Fisher fan. Maybe it's just me.

Children of Bodom- Chaos Ridden years Pretty good DVD. It's got good videos, both old and new. It has an intresting documentery, which is quite informative, yet not as good as it could be. And what's more, it has an awsome concert, without a doubt.

Just bought the new Tool- Vicarious DVD and rushed home to watch what I thought was going to be their first live DVD. Once again they disappoint, I mean don't get me wrong, the video is amazing. It's just, I wanted something more. All that touring they do, not one collection of live footage? They can't reward their fans who wait patiently for years between albums? Laziest band ever... Edit: I forgot about the David Cross commentary, hilarious!
