OK, right now I can think of Hammerfall's Harts on Fire - that bunch of not-interesting-at-all skeletons is just cheesy, and whole video is really pointless and unrelated to the song. There are many worse videos, im shure, but this is on my mind now.

Metal has always been notorious for producing bad music videos. There are many factors that cause this, but the most important of these factors is the lack of money. Metal bands don't make much money (unless you're Metallica), so this means that they need to pour what money they have into making a great album. However, let's now say that the band doesn't sell that many records. What is one of the most effective ways of promoting your record? You make a music video. Keeping in mind that the band does not generate much revenue, let's say they hire an inexpensive director and the band just records themselves playing in a warehouse. The video that is produced will be pretty generic, but at least people will see it and buy the record.

I saw Festering in the Crypt last year or the year before on TV. It's disgusting and shows what a pitiful, uninspired band they are (or at least were, at the time). They're just standing in the studio, performing their derivative death metal with the least possible amount of passion or anything of interest. Yuck.

Well....in my eyes a weird and not the best video would be "The Divided Heart" by Elvenking.....farewell the merry folk attitude...the power actually is present in the song but because of the lyrics and video images it becomes diluted....
They say the deep message of the song/video is supposed to be that death awaits all men....

sorry...while watching the video, only the following deep messages emerge...
either 1. Women=Evil
or 2. suicide's cool and deep
or 3. Elvenking was tired.....of life? of themselves? who knows of what.....

You need to see a video from Killswitch Engage, covering "Holy Diver" from Dio. I think the cover is good, but the video is just a piece of thrash. You can see that they try to take the video as a joke. So, that's a lack of respect for the original song.

After I saw that video I said to myself: "I thought Elvenking was a metal band... I must have seen this video on MTV and mistaken it with some metal band's name"

But anyways that song sound like some EMO crap... Its like a metal band swallowed simple plan and took a dump afterwards shouting how "true" they still are

I dont think it is that bad. It makes sense with the lyrics I guess. St anger... prison. Yes it makes sense. I think it was a good idea.

the new dimmu borgir video is horrible. one thing that the song is creap, but they still could have made a good video for it. but what they have done is the epitome of bad black metal videos. i think they even toppped Immortal with this one.
