My preference goes to Behemoth. Nile and Necrophagist are very technical bands, but Behemoth has a more aggressive and epic sound... IMO Behemoth can't even be compared to Nile and Necrophagist... they actually are very different.

In my view, necrophagist is unparalled. their riffs are so all over the place yet they sound right, as if there was no other way to play it. necrophagist all the way.

Well, for me I would pick Behemoth. Necrophagist seems to be technical just for the sake of playing crazy stuff. I don't like Nile at all for some reason. I don't know why, but I never have. Plus, Behemoth's riffs and songs are more memorable in my opinion.

Behemoth.
Necrophagist are good but they can get boring imo. Nile is good but I like Behemoth more.

I voted Necrophagist, because I probably listen to them the most out of these three bands.
Not a huge fan of Nile, they always seemed a little lack-luster to me.
I agree with most of the other posts that say that Behemoth doesn't necessarily deserve to be compared to Necophagist and Nile.
I also might be a tad biased in this poll. Necrophagist is the only band of the three that I've seen live, and they seriously impressed me. It was surprising seeing a technical band so spot-on live. Incredible band.

Necrophagist. If anyone has seen them live, you would know how awesome they are. I've heard some stuff of Nile's and Behemoth's, and it just can't compare.

I choose Necrophagist...they are technical, but manage to keep the tracks cohesive and memorable. But, this vote is also out of default, as I am not big on Nile or Behemoth.

I'm for Nile because they are so good at setting an Egyptian atmosphere, and in quite a few of their songs they manage to make me feel like perhaps this is a cover of a traditional Egyptian song... also Annihilation of the Wicked is damn insane. Behemoth is great as well but they just don't have the atmosphere Nile does.

Behemoth get my vote, mind you its very hard to compare behemoth and nile, as they are quite different, in sound and style, but i think behemoth have a more aggressive and powerful sound, but in their darkened shrines and annihilation of the wicked by nile are both classic albums
and as many above have mentioned necrophagist are just too technical for their own good, while its very skillful, it doesnt quite have the same impact on the listener

Behemoth may be really bloody aggresive, but Nile is IMO better for setting great Egyptian atmospheres and if you saw Kollias playing live you know what I mean with "best fucking drummer in the goddamn world" Necrophagist just makes me nervous...

I voted Nile - they truly are virtuosos, and it's good to see them exploring ancient Egypt rather than more of the same Viking/pagan thing. Behemoth is good but I still like Nile more, and I never really got into Necrophagist.

Goddamn ! in what ways exactly are those bands similar to be able to compare them? the fact that they play DIFFERENT variations of death metal ?

Yep, they're all too different: Behemoth is blackened death metal, Nile is tech death, and Necrophagist is also tech death but with more progressive elements. I suppose you have to take them on their own merits and not compare them. (Might have worked better as just Nile vs. Necrophagist...)

I believe Nile are every bit as aggressive as behemoth. Also, the egyptian influences and exotic scale and modal ideas expressed in the guitaring are brilliant.

Nile write better songs than both, more technical guitars than behemoth and better creativity than Necrophagist (who arn't in the same league as either). Nile have cornered a theme unique to them. They have the best vocalists of the three and possible the best in all death metal. Inferno is a great drummer but Nile's is more interesting to me.

I haven't listened to enough Nile to judge them but I love Behemoth. One of my favorite blackened death bands.
Necrophagist isn't consistent enough. Sure Epitaph was a great album but they've only released that and Onset of Putrefaction. Who knows what they're even doing now?
Obscura is way better than Necrophagist because the music is more diverse and Obscura doesn't take 6+ years to put out a new album.

Nile followed by Nile. I don't remember who I voted for originally, but if it wasn't Nile shame on me.

Nile the death metal legends!!!
Agree, Behemoth is often generic as hell, and I Can't stand Necro, not nearly as techy as people claim.

All of them are different. Behemoth is blackened death, Nile is death, Necrophagist is tech death. The constant listeners of these genres will know exactly what i am talking about. You cant compare them.
Behemoth is my favourite in all three. I love the way they take Death Metal and mix it with the black vibe.
Nile is so brutal and technical. I love them for their Egyptian themed musical style and the Brutal-as-Fuck Vocals.
Necrophagist is a technical death metal band started to show off the technical guitaring skills of Muhammed. Its too techy in guitars and the vocals are amazing.

Agreed. I'd even venture Nile are slightly Brutal.
But for the sake of choice, mine lies with Behemoth.
