Pretty show I've heard them on liquid metal station a few. Their not that big but for a rock/metal band their pretty big and well known. More known then most.
Big enough to get a concert movie released here, but still no radio play. You'd think Tripple M (rock station) or Tripple J (youth station) would play some
I saw them here in Linköping back when they had just released the second album and "changed Pope" on stage for the first time. Wouldn't have believed they'd get this big if someone had told me then
I was shocked when I noticed that no one created a topic on Wintersun it is so strange because this band is one of the best I know...they have just released one album but this album is fucking masterpiece,
I like their songs "Death and the Healing" and "Beautiful Death" they are great songs and this band is Idol for me.
Isn't it funny that a band with one album has a thread with like 700 posts and some bands who's been playing for decades with very solid discographies have less posts?
So? People here apparently find this band better and/or more interesting. And let's not forget all the ones bashing Wintersun.

Wintersun is a terribly overrated generic extreme power metal band, but then again mmelodic metal, which Wintersun beloings to, has always had more fan because it is easier on the ears.

Great to finally read a new interview with Jari. This oriental influences sounds like a good thing to Wintersun's music. The support from the label has been very important for the band at this point. It's sometime hard to realise that the album will soon be out after been waiting for over 6 years now.

Can't believe it's almost been a year since the new song was played live.
How time flys by...
You sir are worse than leprosy.
The crappy recordings of the new song sound promising, but leave it to Jari to tease people by putting it on "Time 2" even though everyone wants to hear it now because they've already heard the bad recording on youtube.
October 12th cant get here fast enough i have no doubt its going to be great everything jari does is amazing

I think I will go with the CD/DVD version that mailorder edition is nothing really special, only that instrumental CD sounds intressting but I prefer the album with vocals. Think I will pre-order the album from Finland since the release date here in Sweden is the 17th October(don't understand why) And it's even cheapier for me to order it from Finland than ordering from the swedish webstore. I believe he'll have no problems during these 'Time' albums and tours, but after that ( + three years?) it might get quite wearing to bash through long sets with tracks like "The Way Of The Fire", which is quite furious and technical, and what I can tell by watching the YouYube videos, "Sons of..." won't be an easy task either. The guy of course seems to be in pretty good shape and has a history with Rotten Sound etc., but there can always be injuries. I hope he can winterdrum a decade, but is it realistic?
He's only in his late 30s. I know drummers still going in their 50s. Chill.
About "Time I", I love it. I really do. "Sons of Winter and Stars" almost made me cry, probably because I got so nostalgic thinking about how it was the first time, 7-8 years ago, when me and my best friend bought the first album and absolutely loved it. That bringed forth so many emotions in me. But (!) it's not as good as the first one, and I really don't think this one needed 8 years to be made. Yeah, I know there was several factors involved. But still.
I feel I need at least one more awesome song on it, to be able to say: it's just as good as the first.
