I watched the show before I knew it was based on books but few months ago I started to read the first book (haven't had the chance to read anything besides study materials ever since) and I guess I'm glad I already knew what all characters look like. anyway, recently I spotted the other four books in a bookstore and I think I'll make an exception and buy them (I rarely buy fiction books as I just read them once and then put away, so what's the point of that?)... winter's the coolest season for reading books.

plus, if one's worrying about the language... well, um, practice makes perfect, right? reading books is one of the best ways how to improve your knowledge in any language.

I´m watching Riverdale and Mister Robot at the moment. I actually love Riverside, it's such an awesome series.

Gonna start re-watching The X Files tomorrow as well.

My all time favourite series: The Vampire Diaries and Sunset Beach.

Yeah, some of dialogue and acting was a tad naff but it was pretty entertaining overall. Maybe not as solid as The Expanse but was a bit more showy and action based (not to mention full-frontal-nudity city) which I can get on board with. I'll definitely dive into a second season if that happens.

Three episodes into Skins (2007-2013) and it's already one of my favorite things ever. I guess the exploration of teenage/young adult years in a semi-confrontational, semi-parody way hits a never with me, because I spent those years as a total nerd, sitting in the library till closing hours or practicing my drawing skills at home. Fuck, I've never even been to a nightclub. It's fun to watch an exaggerated version of what might have been, had I actually been a normal person growing up.

Watch it and decide for yourself would be my best advice. It's Max Landis, but, at least season 1, is more focused - though madcap and zany - than some of his other bits.

I rather liked it, second season (and last, it seems) was far more bizarre than the already bizarre first season and didn't quite like it as much. Still it is the type of show that will garner responses all over the spectrum, from love to "meh" to "kill it with fire."

Sorry I can't be more help.

Mr. Robot S3 is the single best series to come out of the entirety of the recent so called golden age of TV. It has surpassed almost everything I have seen till date and all my favorites. It is a pure masterpiece and I find it great that when the writer of the show Sam Esmail took over direction duties as well, the show didn't lose out any of the quality and became even more focused and so unique. This guy has some real chops.

Westworld is dry and boring. It seems to follow the usual HBO treatment of "more is good" of any material and I'm not a particular fan of the cliched Michael Crichton idea either. I wonder if I will even finish the first season.

BLACK MIRROR

The more I watch the more I hate. I've seen 2 seasons. Done by what feels like a film student, it tries to be a deep show but ends up being only a mockery. I agree with a buddy who said being cynical and technophobic is not deep at all. To me it fails to produce a single interesting character and its shit pacing and overall shocking vapidness makes it a total miss. What a letdown. Luckily I watched it before ST cause flip the order and I think i'd hate it even more.

I tried a few episodes of Timeless, but it didn't really pick up. After Legends of Tomorrow, it was too vanilla for a goofy adventure, and the male actors especially were quite uncharismatic.

So I just watched the Wynonna Earp pilot instead. Fuck yes, cowboys and undead! Exactly what I've been missing, it's got that Buffy/Firefly vibe (the protagonist is very much a Faith/Jessica Jones type so far). High hopes for the show.

Also finally got around to showing TNG to my wife. So far we've watched a few important episodes from S1 and S2, even I'm not up for the entire 7 seasons in full. It's much campier than I remember.

Just finished the 2nd season of Stranger Things. Basically an inferior clone of the first season as far as the main plot goes, with less character stuff and more contrivances. The government scientists this time around were far less villainous than "Papa" and that also took a lot of the edge and excitement away from the story. 80s Nostalgia and shows/films banking on it is honestly getting tired AF at this point.

Not enough work has gone into the writing for this season it seems, might've been rushed too much. I stopped it around half way I guess once they branched it into a filler episode featuring Eleven's sister if I remember correctly.

Better Call Saul Season 3

Just finished. Every bit as incredible, slow burning, emotional and realistic as the first two seasons. Show is 100x more efficient than Breaking Bad. I would call it among the very best drama shows on TV right now along with Mr Robot.

Eleven's sister is a full fledged filler indeed... but I feel that they might use it later on, just to prove that it's not filler and that it was all "planned", which, technically could be true, but still
