Surely those albums will kick ass...uhm...I hope...
And I'll be eagerly waiting for the new Agoraphobic Nosebleed and Suffocation albums...
It seems 2009 will fuck our asses constantly with brutal assaults and dildos... Which albums do you think will be worth trying this year?
don't you fucking hide the cult underground shit for yourselves bitches, let's see everything you've got.
My bet for 2009, is the following:
-Cannibal Corpse
-Torsofuck
-Agoraphobic Nosebleed..
for now...

Account deleted Written by Doc G. on 18.02.2009 at 23:22 The biggest problem with Kolossus was the vocals. I dont know what the fuck Thebon was thinking, with his half-assed growl/clean vocal grunts which were out of tune 90% of the time and then to make it worse he tried to harmonise on top of it and it was just stomach-churning and BAD to listen to. Apart from a few songs like "Warmonger" and "Kolossus" the album was very disappointing - I cant put my finger on it but the songs just sort of started ok and then ran into nothingness and ended without ever reaching a real climax or "WTF thats INSANE" level that a number of songs on "Armada" was able to do. @Marcel H lol Yeah we've come accustomed to disagreeing, and here we go again Armada is one of my favourite albums of the last 5 years haha but yeah Kolossus was indeed depressingly mediocre

19.02.2009 - 06:45 Written by [user id=1909] on 18.02.2009 at 23:36 Strangely enough the title track was definitely my favorite, loved that song. Yeah I didn't really get Thebons vocal approach for the first few listens, but after playing the album through a large number of times I grew accustomed to it and started to enjoy it. It still kind of confuses me considering he is fully capable of doing great harsh vocals (as shown on Armada and select parts of Kolossus), and hes also very capable of good clean vocals as well (if you've ever heard his side-project Twinsoul). The half-way between grunts were a little off-putting at first. As of now my only problems I have with the album is some production things, I really hate the bass drum sound on the album. Also some of the guitar tracks were annoying when you could hear the squeaking sound you get from friction of the fingertips sliding along the strings, I noticed this most on the intro to 'The Rising Sign'.

I probably come across as one seeing as I've enjoyed all their releases....they all sound quite different from one another which is nice (I guess Agnen & Through Times Of War are the most similar albums, and even they hold some big differences, I've noticed after a few good listens...)

Spawn of Possession now that they have Erlend can't wait to hear it his bass playing is amazing. I'm also really looking forward to the new Devourment, Dying Fetus, Insidious Decrepancy, Maladorous, and hopefully there's a new Abominable Putridity record by the end of the year since apparently its already almost all written.

From the description of it Sigh's new one, Scenes From Hell, is going to be as amazing as well... every other album they've ever done. "There are going to be eight tracks on the album, with titles such as "The Sould Grave," "The Red Funeral," and "L'art de Mourir." The musical direction is not that far from that off from Hangman's Hymn, but the songs are longer, more sinister and a bit more varied, and they all are about hell, war and death! This will be the perfect score to old war movies or Godzilla (The first one, of course!). The biggest difference between this album and the previous ones is that we're using the real orchestral instruments such as a string quartet, trumpet, trombone, tuba, flute, oboe, clarinet and so on. The score is very huge - the one for strings exceeds 100 pages! Definitely the orchestration sounds extremely vivid and powerful this time, and I can safely assure that this will be by far the most grandoise album by Sigh!" That sound pretty spot on to me.

My Dying Bride - The lies i Sire Really interesting release, Its not so romantic as i hoped from samples, but there are agressive passages that sounds really grat, also a song with a toucg of real gothic metal. Its experimental album, with lots of material mixed, from all stages of MDB history. Great release.

Here are a few albums i'm looking forward to in '09. Suffocation - Blood Oath (one of two of my most anticipated albums this year, Suffo should deliver the goods here, what's to doubt is their signing with Nuclear Blast, but i don't have to many worries, at least the production should be good, lets remember this is bdm, we want a thick fucking sound) Sickening Horror - The Dead End Experiment (does anyone know of this band ? if you don't well do yourself some good and check them out. Very unique death metal, with jazzy and industrial influences. One of the darkest sounding dm bands i've come across. Their debut was a mindblower, i expect even more of this one, my 2nd most anticipated album.) Abysmal Torment - Omnicide (I've heard the songs off their myspace and the drum sound isn't quite the best, but overall i like the stuff even though it's less brutal than their debut) Devourment - Unleash the Carnivore (If these guys can put a little flavor into their songwriting, then i will buy this album, lets hope the music will be just as tasty as the cover art.) Isis - Wavering Radiant (maybe they can achieve the heights of Oceanic and Panopticon again, i certainly hope so) bands with album details still to be announced : Kronos, Pelican, Necrophagist (stop hibernating guys), Augury, Anata, Condemned (BRING IT)

03.03.2009 - 19:45 Written by Visioneerie on 03.03.2009 at 19:42 damn...I loved this list. Except for Augury, every other album there is one album that I want to check ASAP. I think Suffocation will blow are minds up, I do think Nuclear Blast will mellow their shit down, but they will manage to sound as brutal as a japanese girl farting in a dude's nose...

I keep on hoping that Suffo's new stuff will be a blend of Effigy and their self-titled, that would be out of this world, like a t-rex on steroids. do you like Sickening Horror dude ?

For sure man....The dudes from Willowtip records sent me their stuff a while ago. It was insane to say the least...I'm not really like..EAGERLY looking forward to their new album, but surely I'll give it a listen and I'm sure it will be fun just like their "When Landscapes..." From your list I'm counting the days for the new Suffocation...truly...like...I'm a huge Suffo fan and it gets on my nerves that their label kept delaying the release of "Blood Oath". Devourment must be a fucking killer of an album, I didn't really like their Brutal Bands Records release that much...can't remember the name of the record...you know...the follow up to "Molesting the decapitated", but hopefully they'll release something cool now... And Isis, All the CD's I've got from theirs are stuff Ipecac Recordings sent me to review...and I surely love them very much...so, this time I think I'll buy it myself hehe...I'm sure it's going to be a rocker

04.03.2009 - 06:06 Written by Saitenhexerin on 03.03.2009 at 19:59 I thought they were just releasing a re-recording of their debut under the name Meltdown? A re-recording is hardly a qualification for being the highlight of the upcoming year. Executioner was nothing all that mind-blowing anyways, I mean it was a nice fun album, but once again, nothing to write home about. Nice enough guys though.
